MSU gets a strong effort from Davis, holds off Georgia Tech
More and more, Paul Davis‘ is becoming an invaluble member of the 2005-06 Spartans. On Wednesday, he followed up a 30-point, 14-rebound game against IPFW with a 22-point effort, including a pair of three-pointers, helping MSU beat the Yellow Jackets 88-86. With Georgia Tech hanging close in the second half, Davis took over by scoring at will both inside and outside.
Maurice Ager added 15 points on a poor shooting night, hitting just five of his nineteen shots (1-of-8 from behind the arc).
Shannon Brown contributed 22 points, and sophomore point guard Drew Neitzel had 17.
Leading by ten late, the Spartans survived a barrage of three-pointers from Georgia Tech, including a last-second shot from 35 feet out that would have given the Yellow Jackets a win had it gone in.
