Paul Davis’ return for a senior year is helping his NBA prospects
Averaging over 20 points and 12 rebounds a game, Paul Davis a force on the basketball court. So far this season, his will and determination have been invaluable for MSU. As Dave Dye of the Detroit News writes, Paul’s decision to return for a senior year will help him next summer at the NBA Draft.
“I’m not 100 percent positive where I would have gone if I left in the last couple years,” Davis said.
“But I know where I could go if I continue to have the year I have. My goal is to go in the first round.
“I believe winning a championship, playing how I’ve been playing, is what’s going to do it for me.”
How seriously did he consider leaving early?
“There’s a million times during the year when you’re at low points and you want to (leave),” Davis said. “After my sophomore season, we were thinking about it. But it wasn’t really that close. I wanted to be a lottery (pick). I said, ‘If I’m not lottery, I’m not going.’ ”
