Spadafore says don’t count on UM win over MSU
Jim Spadafore, our favorite UM basketball cheerleader, isn’t counting on a Wolverine win against the Spartans this week. You may recall his failed prediction of a UM win over MSU in Ann Arbor a couple of years ago.
I foolishly predicted a Michigan victory two years ago with a “count on it” in the paper. The comment upset some Spartans fans, most notably coach Tom Izzo. Obviously, the crow didn’t taste very good after another Spartans victory.
But there will be no such bold prediction now unless it’s to “count on it” for a MSU victory.
The Wolverines are getting better (13-3, 3-2 Big Ten) as evidenced by their easy 71-55 victory Saturday night at Minnesota. Beating the Gophers is one thing.
The Spartans are a much bigger challenge.
