MSU joins “contenders” who’ve lost to “bottom-4″
With a 69-55 loss at Minnesota, MSU joined the likes of Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Iowa who have all recently lost to one of the “bottom 4″ teams in the conference. Shannon Brown scored 19 points in the loss and Paul Davis had 17 points but only 3 rebounds. Next up for MSU is league leading Iowa.
The Spartans rarely get outmuscled and outhustled, but that’s what was happening until early in the second half when Brown started to get free and found his touch.
The final 15 minutes were tight and intense, with the score swinging back and forth between a tie and a two-point difference — until Boone’s long jumper with 6:22 left tied the game at 49 and sparked Minnesota on its game-closing run.
