Nichol hopes Elite 11 invite will attract recruits to MSU

MSUQuarterback recruit Keith Nichol seems to have one thing in mind, winning football games for Michigan State. With that in mind, Nichol is hoping that his Elite 11 status will help bring more attention, and eventually more talent, to his MSU recruiting class. Joe Rexrode of the Lansing State Journal reports that Nichol’s elite status can only help MSU’s recruiting class.

Nichol, a 6-foot-2, 195-pounder who is effective running or passing, has been compared with Stanton. He said he is excited about the opportunity, and hopes it helps MSU bring in more top prospects for its 2007 class.

“Hopefully the Elite 11 thing will help convince some more players to come (to MSU). I want to play with the top players in the country,” said Nichol, who has been wooing coveted Muskegon cornerback/re- ceiver Ronald Johnson.

“That always has the potential to help a great class come together,” said recruiting analyst Bill Kurelic of a top quarterback acting as recruiter. “He’s certainly a great start for MSU.”
