NBA’s New Jersey Nets to work out Shannon Brown
Recent speculation on the future of MSU junior guard Shannon Brown has him as a mid-to-late first round choice in the 2006 NBA Draft. The New Jersey Nets, with the 22nd and 23rd overall picks, plan to work out Brown on Friday.
The Nets also will work 6-4 Michigan State guard Shannon Brown and 6-8 Oklahoma forward Taj Gray on Friday. Tomorrow, the Nets are scheduled to work out 6-6 guard Tarence Kinsey of South Carolina, 6-4 guard Antoine Jordan of Siena, Queens-born 6-9 forward Kenny Adeleke of Hartford (via Paul Robeson of Brooklyn) and 6-10 forward Alexander Johnson of Florida State.
Brown has previously said that he will only remain in the draft if he is guaranteed to be a first-round choice, and he will certainly go a long way toward that end with a strong workout for New Jersey.
