The incredible shrinking Shannon Brown!

MSUShannon Brown worked out for the Philidelphia 76′ers on Tuesday along with Cedric Simmons of North Carolina State, Shawne Williams of Memphis, and Marshal Strickland from Indiana. Maurice Ager is scheduled to workout for the Sixers on Saturday.

The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News reports that Brown has mysteriously shrunk from 6-4 to 6-1 since the NCAA Tournament.

Shannon Brown wasn’t shrink-ing from his workout. He wanted to keep going after tweaking his right ankle, but he was clearly shrinking from 6-4, the height at which he was listed by Michigan State. He is barely 6-1. With a year of eligibility remaining, he has until June 18 to decide whether to remain in the draft, but is being advised by agent Mark Bartelstein. “It’s just all about going out and doing what you do best… just lay it all out on the line,” he said…

Over on the Memphis Grizzlies’ official site, Paul Davis talked about how he might fit in with the team’s draft plans, and how it felt to work out in front of Jerry West.

On working out in front of Jerry West:
“ You try to pretend he’s just another guy but being not necessarily from his generation it’s kind of hard to think about everything he’s done not just for the NBA but for the game of basketball. It’s more of an exciting feeling and not necessarily a nervous feeling because having one of the greats watch you and critique your game is helpful.�

On the possibility of being drafted by the Grizzlies:
“ I think it would be a great fit. Just being here for a day, the facilities, the coaches, the personnel running the team, I think it would be a great fit. An up and coming team, definitely I’d be happy to be a part of that and making this one of the top teams in the league.�
