Dahlman impressive in summer league play
Incoming Michigan State freshman Isaiah Dahlman is making a good first impression. This summer Dahlman is playing in the Capital City Summer Pro League along with several other Spartans on various teams. Joe Rexrode of the Lansing State Journal writes that Dahlman has made a fan out of future teammate Travis Walton.
One of a few dozen spectators at a Capital City Summer Pro League game, Walton had just seen future MSU teammate Isaiah Dahlman drop jaws on three straight possessions - a knifing drive to the basket and switch from his usual left hand to the right for the finish; a baseline attack, spin and surprising flip to a teammate for a layup; and finally, a crossover dribble and stutter move to get into the lane, shot fake and no-look bullet for another easy two.
That’s the one that got Walton crooning.
“He can play ball,” Walton said moments later. “He has that high basketball IQ.”
