Kids can “Meet the Spartans” August 12th
Spartans aged 8-12 can participate in a youth football clinic with MSU coaches and players on August 12th from 10-11:30 a.m. It will be held on the practice fields behind the Duffy Daugherty Football Building. Michigan State will also be holding it’s annual “Meet the Spartans” later that evening with kids 12 and under from 6-7 p.m. at Meridian Mall in Okemos.
Clinic participants and their parents are requested to enter the practice fields through the gate on Shaw Lane. The purpose of the clinic is to introduce youngsters to the game by stressing fundamentals. No football gear is required and admission is free. In spring 2005, nearly 600 children participated in the youth football clinic.
For youth clinic participants, Spartan head coach John L. Smith and his players will be available for autographs on the practice fields for approximately one hour, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. A complimentary hot dog and soft drink will be provided to all football clinic participants.
