Pitt is potent

Similiar to Michigan State, the Pitt Panthers are anxious to make a statement on the national stage. Last season they went 5-6 including a loss to a MAC team. So far they’re 2-0 and if they get past MSU, they have the always cushy Big East left between them and a bowl game.

MSU seems to be the concensus underdog against Pitt on Saturday according to various national media sources and Las Vegas.
All three of The Sporting News’ columnists are picking the Panthers to beat MSU.

Trannon earns Big Ten Player of the Week honors

For his record setting performance against Eastern Michigan, Matt Trannon has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
This is the first time that Trannon has won the award. This week the Big Ten also honored Buckeyes James Laurinaitis on defense and A.J. Trapasso on special teams.
