Stanton will likely play against UM, Ringer out for season
MSU will likely have it’s team leader heading into Ann Arbor this Saturday. Drew Stanton’s rib x-rays were negative and he is expecting to play against Michigan.
Running back Javon Ringer wasn’t so lucky. Ringer will likely miss the rest of this season due to a sprained knee.
Dave Dye of the Detroit News reports that Drew Stanton is very eager to play this game.
“It’s going to take something extraordinary for me not to be able to play in that game on Saturday,” Stanton said.
Steve Grinczel of MLive.com writes that Stanton and co. will need to get over their last two losses quickly if they expect to compete with UM.

Although Michigan State looked so impressive while dominating the Fighting Irish in the first half, it’s been in a free fall since blowing a 16-point fourth-quarter lead and losing 40-37.
Falling to a Fighting Illini team that hadn’t won a Big Ten road game since 2002 only increased the velocity of MSU’s downward spiral.
