Lucas and Summers put on a show at Breslin
Michigan State basketball fans got a peek at the future on Friday. Future Spartans Durrell Summers and Kalin Lucas played impressively in front of the Breslin Center crowd scoring 14 and 21 points respectively in a holiday invitational.
Joe Rexrode of the Lansing State Journal writes that Lucas made an impression on 2008 Ohio State recruit Anthony “Noopy” Crater and his future coach.
MSU coach Tom Izzo sat on one side of Breslin, Ohio State coach Thad Matta on the other as Lucas and the 6-1 Crater faced off. It wasn’t a classic duel - they rarely guarded each other - but it became a showcase of Lucas’ clutch abilities.
“Kalin took over the game, basically, and that was it,” said Crater, who finished with four points and nine assists while displaying slick playmaking skills.
