Michigan State welcomed new women’s head basketball coach Suzy Merchant to East Lansing today.  WILX News Ten Sports spoke with Merchant and had coverage from her Monday press conference.

Eastern Michigan’s Suzy Merchant was named the next Michigan State women’s basketball head coach on Monday morning. Merchant compiled a 201-120 career record over the last 12 seasons as a head coach and a 147-91 record at EMU.
Merchant, who is 47, was also one of the finalists for the recent vacancy in Ann Arbor.

Drew Stanton’s childhood dreams came true on Saturday as he was selected by the Detroit Lions as the 43rd overall selection in the second round of the NFL draft Saturday.
