MSU offense beats defense in first scrimmage
Joe Rexrode posted some numbers on his Lansing State Journal blog from Michigan State’s first football scrimmage of the season.
Like last year, the “winning” side of the ball gets to wear the coveted Green jerseys until the next scrimmage. While the defense is usually ahead of the offense at this point in the season, it appears that the MSU offense will be wearing Green after Sunday’s scrimmage.
Offense wins the 134-play scrimmage, 88-71, in Spartan Stadium to reclaim the Green jerseys.

Rexrode also posted another blog entry with updates from Monday’s practice.
A week ago, Jason Diehl was moving around well and it looked like he might be able to give it a go, but MSU associate AD John Lewandowski has confirmed that Diehl has decided to end his career. The bad knee just wouldn’t cooperate with the massive offensive lineman.
