BTN makes Comcast debut on Friday
Michigan area Comcast subscribers can finally tune into the Big Ten Network starting on Friday, August 15th. (Yeah, we know, all of you satellite subscribers have had it for months.) Comcast has released their new channel lineups on the web for Michigan customers.
Comcast customer service rep Bob told us that there would only be one BTN overflow channel for the Lansing area but preference would always be given here to MSU games (then to Michigan games.) So if MSU is on the BTN, Lansing/East Lansing area Spartans would always get that game. He did say that highlights from every Big Ten game would be available for free on Comcast’s Video On Demand service. That information about the overflow channels differs slightly from posts on our Red Cedar Message Board from people in other areas who are being told that all of the BTN overflow channels would be available in their Comcast areas. We’ll update this entry should we hear more.
Of particular interest for Michigan State fans is the Big Ten Network’s visit to MSU’s campus on Tuesday, August 19th. The visit is part of the BTN’s preseason tour of each Big Ten school’s fall football practices and MSU’s airs on the 19th at 9 PM ET.
