College basketball officials are not tied to a conference like college football refs. A lot of officals do games in a variety of conferences, usually sticking to a particular region.
I went to the
MSU-Syracuse game this year, and an official in that game did the Notre Dame-UConn game I went to the following night.
And last year Tom Rucker was EVERYWHERE. I swear he did two games a day. Valentine has been far less visible this year, he must be doing fewer games because he's hard to miss with his attempts to over-dramatize every call he makes.
