I'm no statistics pro, but shouldn't they have half of the players ranked higher and half lower, minus those that share the same ranking?

Sounds like Ingram's recruitment is wide open at this point (Per Rivals.com) and claims that he is NOT commited to MSU. He has delayed his visit to Washington for the second time, but plans on doing his officials during the fall.
Right now he has the following listed as his top choices:
MSU, Wash, Florida, Iowa, Wisky, Tenn
And he states that he is open to playing DB in college.

Perry seems to flip flop more than Mit Romney.

Per Rivals or another source? Even though we badly need LB's, I wouldn't be upset to trade a commitment from Perry for losing out on Demens. You were pretty dead-on in regards to Fred Smith, so this has me feeling pretty good.

I got it from another source, but evidently Rivals has MSU listed as his favorite now too. The change has come because Fred Smith has been in Perry`s ear.

Actually Rivals has had Perry favoring MSU for some time. They never changed their listing.
And as far as everything else...this is from the article about Perry from a week ago.
Quote:
Speaking of Michigan State, Smith made his commitment on Sunday to the Spartans, choosing them over Michigan. With both Smith and Perry playing in the Detroit Public School League, the two are very familiar with each other and have spoken since Smith's commitment.
"We talked about it," Perry confirmed. "He was trying to get the best class of 08 guys in the state to go to Michigan State to be a power team. That sounds good, I just have to weigh my options before I make my decision."

I'm liking fred smith more and more. . . . .this could be a huge step. This might be the best DE class MSU has had in years

I'll take Perry over Demens any day of the week. A pass rushing end/lb vs. a middle linebacker, no contest.

Except that we really could use some linebackers more than DEs right now.

OK, thats cool. I don`t have access to the subscription sites. I just hear what I am told. Sounds like some of it is just Rivals stuff and some of it isn`t (like Fred Smith and Jonas Gray). I am not trying to displace anyone as being "in the know". I hear things and I pass it along. Capice?

EVerything I have heard abaout Perry in the last several weeks suggests that Dantonio wants him in the same role he used Julian Peterson. OLB/DE going hand down for passing downs. He even said in a rivals article that he will be playing some linebacker during his senior year.

right now perrys only 225ish but runs a 4.5, he projects as a lber very nicely not to mention kids like rollins and dewey elliot are still out there with state on their lists. I'm surprised after all the effort put into demens recruitment and the opportunity to play early here that he would opt for michigan so quickly considering that they slow played him and demens himself claimed he did not grow up favoring any in state schools. hopefully he waits and we start of hot this fall so he might reconsider these things.
