its weird though how we passed on the uber athletic QB Marquise Gray. Opting instead to pursue these unknown kids. I have a feeling the staff is more interested in their stud RB little brother and think if they can get the twins to commit it will help them land the stud RB in a few years.
|
I bet they'll get a preferred walkon offer.

msu is not taking a qb this year unless he will be switching positions. Secondly, Dantonio does to waste scholarships to use family members to get someone else. See, The RoJo situation. If Dantonio would have promised Cojo a scholarship, Rojo would be at MSU. But, Dantonio would not promise anything as he will be use people like that.

im sure thats the case and these kids are in deed good players. I wouldn't be surprised to see one stay at receiver and the other play CB or something. I like that wont use family to try and get recruits. But i'm sure they know it certainly will help land the stud RB if his brothers are on campus and speaking well of the team.

true. If and probably when msu gets ingrham/gray and capers, I doubt we will really need a rb in 09. unless, we move him to another position.

Interviewing HS players to get them to admit where they will play has to be the worst job in reporting. Some hedge because college coaches tell them to say nothing, others flat out lie to throw reporters off while some others try to use reporters to leverage an offer from D1AA to D1 or MAC to Big Ten/Big 12.
Hondo, Comp and the rest schmoozing 17 and 18 year olds has to get real old real fast.

Probably about as bad as when some of the posters on this board call 17-18 year old kids, Mr. "17-18 year old kid" after they committ to MSU.

Rojo was never going to be a Spartan.

i'll say it again...if Dantonio promised Rojo that MSU would take Cojo he would have been a spartan. This is from people that are spot on as they come when it comes to this. Believe what you want, but I know the true story.

so CoJo who has offers from FL, Neb, Wisc, Virginia and is ranked 3 stars by rivals needed his big brother to get him into MSU? yeah that adds up

And i've heard from reliable sources that it didn't matter if MSU took COJO or not, Rojo wasn't coming here.

I agree with you pride. I am just going on the other posters statement. I think he forgot that JLS has a commit from CoJo and Ron didn't give MSU a sniff after that. He showed Dantonio some love but once he snubbed UofM there was no way he was staying in state.

way to believe some player's site on scout or rivals. those are really reliable . He does not have those offers. His top team right now is minnesota. That should tell you all you need to know.

Well that's the first time I've ever even heard a hint of this. It sounds too ridiculous to be true.

I believe the new coach is installing a spread offense and is selling those kids on the "come here and you can play right away" angle.

That spread offense can be a nice sell to some kids. Also, the coach was an NFL assistant before getting to the Gophers. He can tell the kids, "I've coached in the NFL and I know what it takes to get there--play here and I can help you realize that."
