Do you ever show your face at tRCMB gatherings in Royal Oak?

He is a 2-star LB, so he isn't gonna be that good in college.
Sincerely,

You can always get out and meet some of the folks you converse with. tRCMB gatherings started with a bunch of people on here that didn't know one another in person, but they decided to meet for drinks or a Spartan event.

Again, some do pan out, i do realize that but this program needs MORE TALENT. 40 years of mediocrity. Dantonio is doing a great job on the D-line. He just needs to land a couple of stud LB's.

Of the ones that do pan out, I would think they fit the criteria for "more talent".

You guys are silly. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. Its not a coincidence however that USC dominates with 5 stars. Is Scum good every year by lining up those 2 stars???

I agree that we need to upgrade the talent but no coach would be able to pull a class full of 5 and 4 stars at MSU right now. You have to trust that the coaching staff can evaluate and develop players for now and get those 4 and occaisonal 5 stars once we start winning. No use criticizing at this point.

we should have stabenow offer to let ingram's dad out of prison if ingram commits to state...a la "he got game." i have not lived in michigan for 5 years...she is the governor right and i believe she is alum.

I'm not asking for that. Just a couple of solid LB's. Again even Minny is pulling 3 stars. Why is it nobody seems to bat an eyelash when we land a 4star wr but a 3 star LB seems above us?? NO MORE KALEB THORNHILLS. We need hitters.

Again, you can't really evaluate players until they are at the school at least three years. We got 4* Hugh D'Imperio after the 2003 season and we all know how that turned out. I agree that a class full of 4 and 5 stars will ultimately be better than that of 2, 3 and 4 stars but you can't make judgements too soon.

Yes you can, that's what message boards are for.

And it's no coincidence that kids with USC offers can go from no or 2 stars to 4 stars faster than light.
That is partially logical, a USC kid is more likely to be successful, talented, and an NFLer than most schools, but proves that their best measurement is offers, whether they say so or not.
So if the same kid were to have an offer from us, and one from USC, he'd probably have an extra star if it was a USC offer.
I would wait till the end of the year before trying to make these comments though. Generally 2 stars that have a couple BCS offers, and/or commit before too long, will get bumped to 3 stars before February. So today's 2 star could be tommorrow's 3 or 4. They move kids around enough you never really know where you stand.

I was looking at our top prospects:
where do we stand with Steve Gardiner? or Jimmy Bennett? or DeAndre Jones?

just a quick update:
Hoover is now a 3-star (no big surprise) and MSU is 6th in the B10 if you look at star average. Pretty solid class. Oh, and Smith got a bump up which pretty much offset Hoover's fall.

We are 11 in the Big 10 on Scout...#57 in the country. Based on their stars of course.

yeah, but he went from a 5.8 to a 5.9. I don't think it really matters that much because everyone knows that he is good.
