Certainly looks like MD is recruting speed, and lots of it (regardless of stars).
Interesting tactic, and I think there may be some merit to it...

Will Compton has re-opened his recruiting.
Don't know where MSU stands, but its a good bet he ain't going to Nebraska (gut says he ends up at Mizzou)

Scout still shows him visiting Nebraska this next weekend...along with many other Nebraska commits (including Demens?...that cant be right with Gray gone and Demens a scUM commit): Scout Nebraska
They at least show MSU on Compton's list...along with many others. Wonder if Gabbert will stay (QB).
Lets go after Rippy too...

I see potentially some good news on Ingram's visit this past week. Excited about our running game. I couldnt read the entire article however.

spartanpride: Louis he (Hamani Stevens) was totally in shock with the noise and atmosphere. He had a shocking good time. Ingram, our stock went up there too with the run game. We are in good shape!!!

Note, that isnt me. That guy who posts on their tagboard seemingly knows alot about what is going on in recruiting. Good to hear Stevens had a great visit.

Nope. Just noting the article. The free summary was enough for me. If you are a member, go read it.

Actually, WOTS is that he hasnt accepted it. Its only a 1/2 ride scholarship for track ... might be waiting for offers from smaller schools for football, not a walk on role.

Chan Gailey on the hot seat?
I am hearing rumors that GT HC Chan Gailey might get fired after the season is over. If so is there any chance we get back in on LB BJ Machen from Hiliard Ohio? It seemed as if MD was in on him before he committed to GT.

I see we are talking with a new K out of Illinois. Dan Conroy.
He visited last weekend and they are asking him to be a preferred walk-on? So....come to our school and try out but no scholarship?
Interesting...

Wouldn't be too sure about that, his brother played for (and I believe is still on) the team, so he's obviously got a connection to the university. Would be a very good get though, the guy definately looks like he could be a force at LB.

we arent taking a Qb this year unless Tyrrel Pryor decides to come here . anyone we have offered who is a CB on a recruting site was offered at some other position. we have 6Qb's on the roster, and none of them are graduating.

How many recruits will we sign this year, and who is on your recruiting wish list at this point? Are we going to take a QB? Any of you expecting orals this weekend?

Probably around 22 total... we have 14 at the moment. Most of the guys we were after early are gone so its hard to say until December, but definitely linemen. My wishlist would be for:
* Stevens (that #1 center from California)
* Perry (defensive end everyone's chattering about)
* Compton (linebacker that committed to Nebraska that may flip)
But I suspect a bunch of 3 star guys will pop-up for DE, LB, Tackle and Guard positions in the next month.

Add Rippy, Ingram, DeAndre Jones, and Neiko Lipscomb to that wish list.

Compton will end up at Mizzou
Rippy is the de-commit from Nebraska that we should hope for

Robbub, what's the deal on Ingram? I'm confused. He's a verbal, I know that, but should we place any credence in the chatter that he's going to de-commit and go elsewhere?
