Yep, coaches hate having recruits experience game day atmospheres.

I don't see what's odd. It's an either/or, not a both/and situation. If they come on gameday, Dantonio and the staff are too busy to get their arms around them. At a different time, all the charm comes pouring out. They can get inside the heads of the kids and their parents and make them feel wanted and try to make them want the program. I don't believe they can have two official visits, it's either game day or another.

you are an idiot
one of Dantonio's biggest strengths (or so it would seem at this point) is that he can offer these kids guidance at life as well as football
it's more than obvious that he'd rather have them there when he could spend hours with them rather than minutes

What ****ing universe do you live in? There's not a single coach who doesn't want recruits there on gameday. It would make JLS' decision to skip the summer camps look like great recruiting decision to tell kids you prefer they not visit on gameday. I'm sure LSU, Texas, Bama and every other D1 school don't want to show off their gameday atmosphere and fan support. You and calispartan should do MSU's recruiting. Wait til the end of your season and the HS season and give yourself 1 month to sign a recruiting class.

he's already got a bunch of kids, if he wants to put the hard sell on kids from georgia and texas, coming to one of our games isn't going to be the strongest selling point
but keep up the ****ty attitude

He tells players not to come on officials during gamedays (for the most part, a few exceptions of course). Unofficials are welcome and they bring in a lot of recruits for the big games on unofficials, just not officials.

It seems to be that he wants kids from the area to make unofficials on gamedays and officials after the season. For kids from outside the area that can only make it on an official visit he would prefer that they come after the season but will not turn down a visit on a gameday

yeah good observation. even morgan carter, athlete from virginia, came to the UM game on an unofficial visit.

for kids like stevens and lipscomb who would be moving to the other side of the country, i think them and there parents trusting the coach and knowing he will take care of them is a little bit more of a deciding factor then how loud the stadium gets.

I'm sure the MSU staff likes having kids up there on gamedays, but they probably prefer having them there in December and January so they can spend more time with them.

OPSpartan you god damn ******. I said Dantonio doesn't like having official visits on gameday weekend. dont put words in my mouth. My concern is that waiting for officials until after the season puts us a bit of a disadvantage for kids that want to decide early and take their officials throughout the season. try looking things realistically instead of while jackin it. posters on the mag and on here have shared the same concern. this is his first season for a full years recruiting. I'm not going to call it a failure before its done. but we will see.

If a kid says he would like to take his visit on a particular weekend, do you think is gonna tell him to eff off and stay away from campus after football season?

no one has said anything remotely close to that. People have said that he prefers them to take unofficials during the year (games) and officials after the season.

WOTS (per the sidelines at the King-Adams game today) : Nick Perry will likely end up at USC.

Sorry, should've clarified. That was the word on the King side of the field today during the Rochester Adams-MLK game. Nothing official, but it sounded very convincing according to my source at the game. Then again, if USC loses a couple more and we win a bowl, we could end up with the same record.
