actually quite a few this year. I believe GT started 3 freshmen and they had a very good line, USC started a freshmen at center, Iowa Started a true freshmen. I've seen true freshmen lineman play a lot at plenty of good programs.
IMO Ro-Marts above average, the best pulling guard on one of the top rushing teams in the country deserves a little more respect.

Lo White Jr. down to 3 schools. In no particular order, Central, State and Toledo.
I think this might be purely a playing time issue. Don't see how you can compare these three schools, unless he really wants to play - early and a lot.

Does he have an offer from us? My guess is he is holding out for an offer from us but Central is his backup plan.

I think BC has a true freshman starting, too.

Stevens would still probably redshirt unless there is a serious injury or if there is regression amongst some of the younger lineman already on the team from the bowl game to spring to summer.

Saw this over at Scout:
Quote:
Found an interesting Nick Perry quote on one of the Miami sites, as Perry discussed some of what will go into his decision:
Perry says distance will be somewhat of a factor in his final choice.
"As long as I could see my family a lot, then it doesn't matter where I go," he said.
Well, considering his current top-four consists of MSU, USC, Miami and West Virginia, if seeing his family a lot is a pre-requisite, I'm liking MSU's chances more and more.

A lot of interesting stuff today. I think we could get Trawick because we are running out of schollies at that position and he would be smart to commit soon. White, Darks (committing soon?), Trawick, Imeokparia, Lipscomb, and Grant are all vying for a few spots. I think we would find a schollie for Lipscomb (anyone know how we are doing with him?).

According to Scout he has offers from MSU and CMU. Not sure what Rivals says.

The fact that he has offers from CMU and MSU and hasnt decided where he wants to go is kinda strange. That should be an easy no brainer.

That leads me to think two things.
1.) He's not a standout, just an average recruit
2.) He wants playing time and feels he wont get a ton of it at MSU (relates to #1)

The problem is people believe that legacies should be Plan A guys.
I think legacies are important to a program, however I don't think Lo White is better than some of the other guys on the board. Guys like Trawick, Lipscomb, and Darks.
Speaking of Darks, it seems that he may not be a lock like some thought. It may be creeping into his mind that MSU is far away from home and may opt for Iowa State, Kansas or Missouri instead.

Don't kill the messanger. A member of SpartanMag who is very close to Darks and knows the most about his recruitment and almost as much as our coaches says he has a lot to think over.
He says that Darks still has an offer but he won't be deciding within the week.
I think he is all but gone at this point. Move on to Trawick and Lo White probably.
I don't know. I thought we cooled on Morgan Carter because of Darks. I don't have inside info but that is just the gut feeling I had.

The only thing that matters is who thinks is a plan A guy. White is fast... Very fast. He is also a legacy. I actually think that the legacy thing comes in third to the fact that White is very fast and is in a position of need. I think it's pretty obvious that he isn't as good as Lipscomb but I think that if MD thinks he is better than the other 2, then he is. We will see.

I don't think MD thinks that Lo White is better than Trawick or Darks.
We offered Lipscomb, Darks and Trawick before Lo White I believe.
Lipscomb is having grade issues and may have to go the Prep route or JUCO.
Darks is wavering on whether he wants to go that far away from home.
Trawick hasn't had an update on him in a few weeks, so I don't know how possible he is.
Lo White is very possible. There is only one safety position open and whoever bites first gets it.

Fair enough that's what you THINK. I think we will get 2 more safeties/DBs. White, Lipscomb, and Darks could move to CB. I agree that Lipscomb is not looking good. Even if you are right White is a pretty darn good consolation prize.
