The square is seldom if ever cool ... He is "not with it", that is, he doesn't know "whats happening." But if he manages to figure it out, he moves up a notch to "hip." And if he can bring himself to approve of what's happening, he becomes "groovy." And after that, with much luck and perseverence, he can rise to the rank of "cool."

I think he is all but gone at this point. Move on to Trawick and Lo White probably.
I don't know. I thought we cooled on Morgan Carter because of Darks. I don't have inside info but that is just the gut feeling I had.

I read what they all said and you're definitely jumping the gun on Darks. All they said was that he needed a little more time to think about his commitment. The kid still really likes MSU he's just trying to make as informed of a decision as possible. Like the other poster said Nebraska, Missouri and Iowa State would all be plane rides also. Unless UT or Oklahoma offers I think MSU will definitely get him.

Where do we stand with DBs now after getting Trawick? Do we still have room and push for Darks and Lipscomb?
Lipscomb has some serious offers, where do we stand today?

As far as Lipscomb, I read on rivals that he has some academic things to take care of with the NCAA Clearing house. Correct me if I am wrong but I do believe you have to have cleared the NCAA before you can take official visits so he is working to get that straightened up. He is a big UGA lean but they are tight on scholarships so we will see.

We are taking one more safety prospect. If Darks commits then my guess is that Traywick is going to be a LB.

More info on the Zac Dysert QB from Ohio.
Includes a MUCH better picture

Zac Dysert of Ada High school in Ohio is one of the top quarterback recruits in the Midwest for the class of 2008. The 3-star prospect has seen his recruitment take a strange turn the past few weeks as he has picked up some big time offers despite having given a verbal to a MAC program. SpartanMag.com has the latest on this fast rising recruit for the class of 2008.
|
Curious who has actually offered him. His 'interest' shows MAC schools + MSU, Pitt, UC, Kansas.
Rivals ranks him at #22 pro-style QB in country.
Curious how that works into our QB rankings etc.

I think we would allow Lipscomb to come here but I don't he will qualify.
As for Darks he is out of the picture. He isn't coming here as Trawick was being recruited at safety. There was only one safety spot left and Trawick took it, leaving Darks looking on the outside.

One of the many problems with Rivals rankings system. He committed early to a MAC school not thinking he was going to get many better offers. When that happens other schools stop recruiting and Rivals stops paying attention. Late offers from Pitt, Kansas and MSU shows this kid can play.

New visitor for first weekend of January - Sterling Lucas.
TheTandD.com | O-W's Lucas shines in Shrine
Quote:
That was it. Be a Bulldog or go home. Then again, there was the third option — work hard and try to make people take notice. Lucas chose the latter. Smart move.
He backed that decision with a 161-tackle season, a selection to the Shrine Bowl and Saturday he was honored as the game’s defensive MVP after recording eight tackles, an interception in the end zone and two fumble recoveries.
"I feel great," Lucas said. "I just wanted to come out and play hard. It was a great week. All the players came out and we bonded together."
Lucas did more than bond over the past week, and that was evident at Saturday’s postgame press conference. A throng of reporters marveled at the Bruins linebacker and with good reason. He may have done more to improve his status among the recruiters who flocked to Shrine Bowl practices this week than any other player.
Sorry Buddy Pough, but now you have to contend with the likes of North Carolina State and Michigan State, both of whom offered Lucas scholarships over the past week.
"I think I came here with something to prove," he told one reporter after the game. "I can say that. I just wanted to play hard. I think I have come real far."
During the postgame press conference, Lucas spoke of how happy he was to be able to spend a final week under Kennedy. At the same press conference, Kennedy spoke about how happy he was for Lucas.
"It’s good to see this type of kid come into our program," he said. "I am so happy for Sterling and his family to see him get the offers he has gotten."
Who’s in the lead for his services? That was another popular question Saturday. The University of South Carolina and Clemson haven’t offered yet, but one reporter suggested they might.
"So, Sterling, did you grow up a Gamecock fan?" he said with a smile.
Lucas looked at the man and answered back with a slight smile of his own.
"Not really," he said. "I’m not really a Gamecock fan. I’m a football fan."
He then went on to tell the reporters that the two biggest schools in the state had yet to offer. They better hurry. Lucas has already been to N.C. State to watch a game and he likes the facilities.
He will start making official visits in January.
"I just want to thank God for all of this," he said following Saturday’s game. "I thank God. I have God on my side."

Anyone know which recruits we had at the game yesterday? Hoover and MD were really working this one guy with a St.Louis hat on.

Taylor Hill a 4 star LB who apprently verballed to WVU right after he decommmited from Okla is now looking else wehre after RR left for scum and is visiting MSU Jan 11th. I wonder what other schools he is looking at and if scum is one of them. Also i wonder if DJ Woods will be back on the market now that RR has left WVU.

That was DE/LB Jacques Smith (6-4 220lbs) from Dallas TX. He's a nice kid too, he almost tripped over my 5 year-old son as we exited Breslin kept saying "oh I am sorry little man" . . . "that was my fault I am sorry" . . . his player host was DT Justin Kershaw.

what a wild few weeks for that guy.
It is going to be very interesting in the next 45 days with RR going to WVU. What he does with assistants...what the scUM and WVU recruits do...etc.
