at a position where we actually have some depth? Yep....
If he was a DE, LB, DB or TE - would be a different story

I agree. Unless the kid doesn't want to go where his Dad went, which doesn't seem to be the case... this would be a huge loss.

Where are we at with Jucos? We had some good luck with Jucos and getting the right one can put an immediate stud on the field. Like at WR or a big thick RB. Albeit, I've heard RB is a position of strength.

Never said he was a lock, but to hear that the Iowa coaches are paying more attention to him than we are makes me frustrated.

The staff has brought him in numerous times. He had a great official visit. He was invited to come to and showed up to a bowl practice instead of taking an official visit elsewhere. He loves MSU and the staff. The fact that Iowa can offer him something that we can't is the only reason that he hasn't already committed to us. I really don't know how anyone can look at it as a knock on the staff or the job they've done with him.

maybe it's because our main resources are being used to get LBs and OL rather than extra RB depth?

Agreed. Would hate to see him running against us as a future Iowa RB.
He would do well here and would be an awesome add. Not to mention a growing program vs. a shrinking program...

I understand the playing oppurtunity we can not match but and his staff should be out working iowas staff. i shouldnt be reading an article where ingram is quoted as saying iowa is recruiting him the hardest that is what is pissing me off.

Yeah, but you gotta close. The one thing the staff can do is keep on him. I don't like the fact that he says Iowa is recruiting him the hardest. While playing time isn't within their control, they should still be all over him.
When the Minnesota's of the world are landing a lot of 4-star talent, this is one MD can't let slip through our fingers by getting outworked by Iowa.

So Iowa needs him more than MSU does and needs to make up ground on MSU. Makes sense that they'd be working harder on him, doesn't it?

With your philosophy MSU would never get any players worth a dam. Is this JLS?

Mark Ingram's cousin?
Ingram is quoted in the scout article as saying he has a cousin on the MSU football team. Anyone know who his cousin is?

That's not true. It is at RB... I hope MD and co. are working harder to recruit other positions... Iowa needs him more than we do... nonetheless we are still one of his favorites...
I hope Nick Perry is saying that MSU is recruiting him the hardest... that is where MD and co. should focus... or other defensive players.... picking up one of them would mean a lot more to this team as they could start immediately... obviuosly Ingram wouldn't.. thus we have other more pressing needs and hopefully is focusing more there.
Not JLS at all...

It sounds like they ARE all over him. It also sounds like Iowa is sending 15 ****ing letters a week. Even after all of that, even with Iowa offering immediate playing time and stalking him, he says that if he had to say anything that Iowa is a very slight leader. After reading everything regarding his recruitment, Dantonio and staff have been working him very hard.

He said that Iowa was recruiting the hardest because the entire staff sent him 15 letters a day this past month...BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE A ****ING BOWL GAME TO PREPARE FOR. Ingram even admitted that that was the reason.
Did you honestly expect him to commit before he took all his visits? Do you blame Dantonio for the kid and his family deciding to take all their visits and THEN deciding?

I think they should be focusing on the players they need the most. I'm sure SOME of them are worth a damn.

Seems the staff needs LBs, OL, DL TE, and a QB more than another RB. I'd rather have them get the areas of need. No doubt they're still on Ingram, but getting him and not filling the holes is a problem, whereas filling the areas of need and not getting Ingram isn't so much. Here's to hoping they can do both.

We have roughly 9 -11 spots left with Hoover/Adams coming in early, and landing Ingram could give us some much needed momentum in the recruiting process to help us fill those holes. He is a huge recruit in terms of momentum. I still have faith in Enos, I think he will get him here. I just hope it's sooner rather than signing day. EIther way, I'll take him.
