Kid was all Big East as a true frosh. It's going to be great to see him in the G&W for the next 2 years

I never said he should be a stud by now, I don't think he should have seen the field bt now, which he hasn't. I said he should be at best deep depth (third on the depth chart when everyone is healthy). We have two 2 star prospects at MLB, no one else even on the roster. I said he was a good kid, doesnt mean I feel comfortable with him seeing the field? He did not register one tackle this season playing behind Thornhill and Rouse. If he can't even compete for a few snaps a game or special teams play with those two ahead of him, what does that say about his abilities?

I think you should start the "Blueberry Muffin for MLB" bandwagon

I'm not trying to insult our current guys, just stating why i don't see us getting 9 wins, and Lb is a big part of it!

I'm not saying that we will become the next USC but there's no reason that we can't compete for NC's over the next 10-20 years.
|
None of the teams you mentioned HAVE become NC contenders. ASU was a Pac 10 also ran, KU & Mizzou were the same in the B12, and Cal finished something like 6 - 6. So far of the schools you mentioned, only Cal has had sustained success, and that's been moderate, NOT as a NC contender.
That said, MSU can have sustained football success. The Spartans have had it before, MSU has proven they can build an elite hoops program, and there's no reason football can't be RE-built. I agree MSU can do better the 8 - 4 or 7 - 5, and I think Dantonio is the guy to make MSU into a consistent BT contender, and more.

FYI - Decker was hurt most of this season so it's not like it's a fair representation of his ability. What's interesting is that he saw some meaningful time during the bowl, meaning when healthy he's an upgrade over some of the guys seeing time during the season.

i don't recall seeing Decker and the season stats say he did not register a tackle unless they were not updated for the bowl. Are you thinking of Rouse?

Provided that Gordon doesn't move to the inside, we should have 2 extremely good OLBs for the next 3 years. Both Gordon and Jones are only going to get better and were the stars of the D in the bowl game.
The hole is the blueberry muff. .. . i mean MIKE position. Who knows? Jones stepped in, displaced Sir D and looks like he'll be all B11 before he graduates. If we end up with Hill or Perry or someone, who's to say they won't come in and start making plays?
Though we lose starting exp on the DL, I don't think there's a drop-off in talent to say the least, in fact I think the overall depth of talent will be improved.
Our CBs should be even deeper, with Adams being added to the Henderson/Weaver/Rucker/Davis-Clark quartet.
At S, we add Burrell and Trawick to Wiley, Jenrette and Fortner.
So you don't think we'll have a good season based on our MLB position?

What? We all knew he dropped us from his finalists, but your comments on his character and academics are new to me. Where do you get this info? More curious since it doesnt matter.

No way did we pull his scholarship. The rest is pretty much crap and unnecessary.

No matter how flawed you think the recruiting ranking system is, you never say its okay to lose the top rated Center in the country... That HAS to mean something. Never really thought he was going to come to MSU anyway, but to say he isnt that good might be a bit of an understatement.

Sounds like a um fan coming to RCMB and trying to make Spartans look bad with sour grapes.

No no no, huge spartan fan here!! I just dont like it when people all of a sudden say that a recruit isnt that good anymore just because we didnt get him. If he would have came to State we would have praised him. Just my outside opinion

So a sarcastic UM reference that's been used on here for YEARS cannot be assumed sarcastic?

I love when people post like this without the smilies and make everybody figure it out.

I think it's sad that people who frequent this board couldn't tell this was a joke post without the smilies. There must be some real crazy people posting on here if that is taken for real.
