the main guy on spartanmag is finally saying MSU needs to start turning up the heat on kids and press them for a commit and not going to visit other schools after them. Some kids you can't do that with, Perry and Ingram, but the mid-tier guys need to realize verbal now or you are done and MSU is moving to the next kid. Hopefully not too little too late.

Will MSU ever get it going in recruiting. It seams like we are always behind. Why can Minn and Illinois do it and we cant? Sick of hearing they have good recruiters. Don't we? Oh, and please do not post pics of money. Anyone have any good reasons why we cannot get things rolling? We have playing time, a huge fan base, $$ in the facilities and a President and Athletic director that will do what it takes to bring in a championship. I just do not get it.

NOt wigging out just being realistic. Last year we had the same thing with possibilities in Barksdale and RoJo only to be shut out and crushed. I love but I will get excited when they sign. Look at Minn list of verbals. Why can they do it to this point and not us?

You're gonna have a heart attack if you keep following MSU recruiting with this mindset. Just gotta let it play out and not look at what is happening elsewhere.

I think Jones is out of the picture now.
What about Jacquies Smith? He'd be a huge get IMHO.

Scout doesnt know **** about MSU. Other schools may have reliable reporting but not MSU. Its not even comparable to rivals for MSU stuff.

Look at the players we signed last year. We had 3 or 4 STARTERS out of that class. None of these players were highly ranked. MD knows how to recruit, I'm not worried in the least. Next year we will start Jones, Dell, Cunningham, Wilson(or Jeramiah or both), maybe Rucker. NTM Wheat, Johnson, Ray(hope he's healthy) and others. Thats a lot of talent coming out of a supposedly ****ty class.
EDIT: Since Adams and Hoover are backdated you can essentially count them in there as well. They will both play a role next year.

Every coach has their own way of doing things. I get the feeling that prefers to do things one at a time, for instance we got most of our recruits before the season even started at summer camps. Then coach focused on the season and did not do the major football recruiting weekends some coaches do. Now that the season is over recruiting is in top gear and will finish strong. JLS went mountain climbing in the summers and chose not to do the summer camps to evaluate talent and settled for players with questionable talent and character That was his style.
Now we have 16 commits that are excited to be and are in on 8-9 more kids that are very good prospects. I agree Ari, the next couple weeks we will see a lot of good things happening.

Well Jeremiah was pretty highly ranked. 4 star DT (#14). Rivals 250. #4 player in Ohio. Mark Dell was a Top 250 player as well.

That list is accurate with the exception of Mosley, although Dorsey said that Jones is likely not coming either, but there are others who have not been identified (Already committed to another school, but looking around) who will also make the trip.
I think you'll see Winston and Hill in green after this weekend

I was speaking more about Jones, Wilson, Rucker. Still doesnt change the point really. There were a lot of talented guys in that class and it got ripped on here and other places.

i'm sure this has been asked and answered, but I would rather not search through all the pages of this thread.
Winston is listed on Rivals as an athlete. What position is he projected at?
