Yeah, but he is running out of schools to commit to, right?

Winston is a 3-star ATH from Detroit Denby. It looks like he projects as a LB in college, where we can use the help. I love what is doing with recruiting though. We need to put the emphasis on getting MI and OH players and be a force in our own region, unlike the strategy of JLS.

Dantonio is starting to get his feet wet in Texas too. I think once he establishes that he can get what he wants in Michigan, he's going to go full force into Texas.

PSL star to play for Spartans
Matt Dorsey
SpartanMag.com
One of the best players in the Detroit Public School League this year was RB/LB Glenn Winston of Detroit Denby High School. SpartanMag.com just spoke with the physical prospect, who was on an official visit this weekend, and he indicated that he will be joining the Green and White. Find out the details about Winston and see video of him in action.

6'1 213 already, put 15 lbs on him and he'll be a great fit for OLB

Red = confirmed commit, generally w/ quotes and article(commit)

Yeah I agree with you on that. Once you set up shop in your own backyard, then start looking outward at the recruiting hotbeds like Texas, Florida, and Cali. I think this coaching staff really understands how to set up a program.

The Spartanmag staff has been really high on Winston all year.
IMHO - this is a very solid pick-up. He has good size and good speed for a LB, likely OLB.
Keep it going MD!

I really like the upside Winston has. Right now hes very raw for LB and has a lot to learn. He has all the measureables you look for to be a good one tho. I really hope we can get Hill to commit to us too!

Exactly.
I understand keeping it under wraps until they get on campus, because they might be hearing from the "other" school about making the visit.
But once they are on campus, not sure what the big deal is.
|
Why keep it under wraps? Because a "source" asked them to. If they ignore that request how helpful will the source be the next time they talk to them?

I think that the only other non-surprise committ would be Taylor Hill. Don't get me wrong though, he would be an amazing get for MD & co., one of the class gems.

4.4 is 'good' for a LB? Wow, what would be 'great', 4.3?
Just messing with ya, I know what you meant. But that's great speed at the LB position, if he stays there. Kid has a ton of athleticism and potential, will be a fun one to watch develop.

This is a little dated but I have not seen it here.
Clemons fills in Pryor on Michigan
Quote:
Clemons, a freshman wide receiver at Michigan and a Valley High School graduate, would like nothing more than to have Pryor, Jeannette's standout quarterback, join him in Wolverines blue and maize.
Besides, Pryor is Clemons' cousin.
