I read in a LSJ article that Trawick wanted to go to the bowl game but didn't have a way. Anyone know if he was there? Are there alumni mobilized as an extention of our recruiting? We had the one guy who was in contact with Ish Johnson. How much of that is allowed?

Trawick honors his committment, he plays in a bowl game next year. Doubt it at Louisville.

Let's see...Papa Johns Pizza Stadium (Big East).....or Spartan Stadium (Big Ten)...took me about 2 seconds to figure out where he was going.

That one is over. He'll go to Texas AM.

the next 3 weeks are going to have its ups and downs. this program has a long way to go still. Texas recruiting has been a waste of time I am afraid. Could be using that time in Florida which has been a very good state for MSU and many Midwest schools.

Dantonio is going to NJ to visit Witherspoon...along with half dozen other coaches like Carroll and Paterno (and RR). Do we have ANY chance here?? Curious on his angle besides instant PT...showing Jones as an example of a true freshman all american.

Guys Texas recruiting is a 3 yr process...we are in year two.

We landed Foles and have chances at several other great players.

I also know for a fact we had one player but an unexpected "issue" has held him back to stay close to home.

Once a guy like Foles is playing and we actually make...gasp...two bowls in a row, kids in Texas will start to take notice.

Be wanred though...the minute Texas or OU offer it;s over. They are bred to be Sooners and Horns. Great example is DJ Grant, he was ours and 2 star prospect until Texas offered and he bacme a Top 100 player and 4-stars. Commited to Horns almost immediately.

Mike, could you please explain what exactly this 3 year process is?

year one - make your self seen on the recruiting trail
year two - steal a recruit along the way
year three - show that said texas recruit(s) are playing and succeeding in the program

Which is why it makes more sense to me to really focus on Florida hard since MSU has at one time or another accomplished all three of those goals.
