Well Colin Neely was a RS freshman last year. He was on the field some, but not much. I want to say that both of them have been on special teams.

Shaw could play SS, he'll be a RS soph this year.
Grimey is 5'9, I have hopes that he'll be our PR.
I actually like Jenrette at SS, what's everyone's problem with him, I thought he filled in well for Warrick this year.

I heard bobby is the RBs coach, not TE coach. But, I could have heard wrong.
As far as Smith....there was another update today and it definitely sounds like msu or missouri. Those are his top two schools. Right now MSU still leads, but Smith still has to visit Mizzou. Hopefully we pull this one off!

Getting TAMU off his list would be nice.

No joke, hopefully the new coach thing dissuades him.
BTW, for all you star nuts out there. . .this is the most 3-stars (11) we've had in a class since before 2002 (last year in the rivals database). For everyone clamoring for more depth, it's on the way. A team of well-coached 3-stars with a few 4 and 5 star playmakers is a damn good team (WVA, BC, Kansas, Mizzou, South Florida, Wake Forest, Wisky are all examples of teams like this)
I for one, am excited about the depth already in this class.

Agree on the depth issue. Unfortunately, we are missing on some kids at LB. Thats the only real concern I have at the moment. We desperately need to start landing some playmakers at the skill positions to get us over the hump. We may not do it this year but string together a couple of winning seasons and things will turn around...

Sterling Lucas is no longer taking a visit to MSU. Maryland replaces it and if SoCar offers he will be visiting there. Seems he just wants to stay closer to home. (one can hope there are positive signs with perry as well).
David Rolf is another (3 star for you star junkies) one to see if MSU offers and then we may get a visit.

Edet just says Louisville is his favorite and his dream school and if everything goes right he could commit there on his visit this weekend. Makes no mention of MSU in the article

Looks like we may be losing both MLB prospects in one day. Who is this david Rolf guy?

I just can't believe that a majority of the lb's that we are recruiting do not seem interested in coming here! what ever happend to beckford? i thought for sure he would be a and now edet will probably end up at louisville if that is his dream school! we need to recruit instate lb's next time! not saying that the 2 or 3 we have committed are not good but we need some studs! look at greg jones! instant playing time!

i'm confused by your statement. I realize maryland ( i am assuming that is what you mean) is not right next to SC, but it is a whole lot closer as well as a lot of his away games will be in proximity as well.

both? Balogun is still on the radar and if we get perry you can sure bet jones is going to add some weight and play mlb (if we do not get balogun). I guess I thought Lucas and Edet were olb's and maybe DEs.

IMHO I'd rather have the 6'1 225 lb guy play OLB and the 6'4 245lb guy play MLB. . . .

Nope both are true MLB prospects. We seemed to have turned away a lot of linebackers before the ones that are left in the hopes that we would land some, but so far we keep striking out. Not a good thing.

edet probably wont qualify which is why droped him. Same may be true for Lucas, or maybe has caught fire recently with a better prospect.
there's always more to these stories then what meets the eye, for those of you on here who think you know everything and make like these kids just dont like us.

Zordich, Maresh, Lucas, Edet, Yancich, Hill, Demens, Staples, Jones, Rippy, Beckford, Dion Guy , Balogun
Linebackers are going swimmingly
We just need bodies I guess at this point. Get some depth, maybe improve the talent in next years class

I still maintain that if we signed 19 with Ingram & Perry, this class is a home run.
Now, we will more than likely end up with more than 19, but a full class of 25 would be surprising. It looks like MD is either counting on Perry or Balogun or both. A young LB trio of Perry, Jones and Gordon for the next 3 years would be . Our D overall would be looking pretty solid for the years to come with guys like Adams, Trawick, O. WIlson, Jeremiah, Jordan, Rucker, Hoover, Worthy, Burrell Etc....
On offense, our skill positions are all good to go, and Ingram would be the cherry on top, in fact, one ridiculously huge freaking cherry on top. Add in Foles, F. Smith, Dell, A. Anderson, Cunningham, Ray, K. Martin......We are all good. I think the key to our team's success in the next 2 years in the OL/TE positions. Let's hope the guys we bring in like Woods, McDonald, & Deyo pan out, A-Ray gets healthy, and we get a few late recruits than can contribute.
