Gut instinct says Perry comes to MSU....but I'm leery of the trip to USC. Pete Carroll could sell Viagra to Peter North.
I'm not convinced Perry or Ingram have even decided themselves yet.

I think you think he's going to U-M. At least, that's the way your posts come across.

Of course Perry hasn't decided yet- he's only been on one visit!

Does anyone remember what Peterson's recruitment was like? I realize his recruitment would be different from Perry's in that he didn't come directly from high school, but was he a "can't miss recruit" or simply a good player that had potential to become great?

Suppose Perry told MD he wanted to come to State Tuesday. What does MD do?

1. Leak the news right away -- Good PR, but you run the risk of Perry's other suitors putting on the full-court press between now and Feb. 6.

2. Keep it quiet -- Makes Perry's other suitors waste time and effort, but you lose the PR boost with other recruits.

Would you keep it quiet in order to have a big splash closer to signing day? Would you tell other recruits at the same position to go ahead and look elsewhere? MD has shown to be a man of high moral fiber, so it wouldn't surprise me if he would do this under those circumstances, but it sure seems a little risky. If Perry changes his mind or gets snatched away, we've got no plan B.
I didn't say that was the case. I said it COULD be, but it could very well not be. I was speculating as I said. I never said I had info on that.

Well of course, why wouldn't he go to UM? It's Michigan for christ's sake!

This is the ONLY recruit I have ever seen Josh compliment the job msu has done...and he has done more it on more than one occasion.

you must be drinking a lot of that WV coolaid

the reason everyone is melting down on the fort is because their kicker is reporting that Pryor is NOT serious about UM. He is ragging on them behind their back and making fun of how much they are on his nuts. he will NOT be going to UM, all the UM slappies that think he is are and will be proven wrong. He WILL be going to LSU or more likely OSU. The ONLY way he goes to UM is if EnRod decides to dish out a little $$$.

Visits aren't everything. You and I both know that. He might have his mind made up regardless and just be keeping it to himself. Who knows.

I honestly couldn't tell you back that far.

One thing that comes to mind though...How many LBs have went on to become great NFL players under RRs tutelage? I wouldn't know of any if there were, BUT, given what I know about the 3-3-5 and WVU's reputation for having bad defense under RR, I would doubt there have been any. I would think this is one huge selling point Dantonio could have over UM. Over USC, probably (okay, definitely) not, but I really think they are the third pony in this race anyways.

I'm not saying this means he's coming to EL, because I know that sounds like I'm sold on Perry supposedly coming here, but there are things that work against us, too. I just think this element could work huge if Dantonio employs it the right way.

Gee, that sounds a bit different from your post on the last page:

"Perry WILL be a LB wherever he goes. That is what he wants to play and WILL play"

felt it needed more explanation. he does WANT to play LB and WILL play it. How much is the question. If he goes to MSU, A LOT, if he goes to UM, prolly not, if he goes to USC, good chance.

Yeah, that's why I used the word "theorizing." And again, I don't think it's true, I'm just curious about what people think our strategy would be under those circumstances.

I just saw his name under our prospect list today on Scout for the first time, and I was kind of wondering the same thing since I hadn't heard anything about him. I'd be willing to bet the coaching staff has been on Perry so much for the DE spot, he's kind of becoming the forgotten child.

I know Trevor Anderson has gotten some mention lately, but lets not forget about Ish Johnson. He could be a big impact next year. Could he play LB, if not much a little? I know we recruited him the for DL.

Then why did he want to play DE at the All American game?

that was an AA game, not college or his future. Totally different situation. I do not know why he wanted to at the AA game, but there could be many reasons.
