Couldn't one of those reasons be to..oh I don't know..play the position he's being recruited for against the top players in the country?

He is visiting a few schools. I know he is visiting Utah this weekend, as of now, and just visited someone last week (oregon? i forget). MSU is talking to him, no offer yet. I would be surprised if he didn't visit if he gets an offer.

Did Ish Johnson even practice this year? I don't think he did. If he hasn't laced up the pads in a year, I think we need to chill out on how much we expect from him.

no, he couldn't, as he was a gray shirt. But, he was around the program and such and he has all of spring ball (i think he is able to play spring ball).

Possibly because he was a late addition since the MHSAA held him up in getting into the game.

I thought Ish was injured as well.

Grayshirts (aka the Todd Boeckman's of the world), can practice in spring, just like early enrollees can.

What would that have to do with where he wanted to play?

Easy. He gets into the game late, so the coach has already game planned for other guys to play the position, and wasn't willing to pull them from their spots. I don't think Nick would back out of a chance to play in the game just because he couldn't play the position he wanted to play. I'm not saying that's what happened, but it's a possible explanation.

I still don't get it. I'm saying that he WANTED to play DE, but had to play LB. What does that have to do with what you are saying?

Maybe he wanted the chance to get a sack or two and make some headlines. I thought that in some of the college all star games the teams are not allowed to blitz, is that how it was in the AA game?

good point. also, maybe since he was a late addition there was more of an opportunity to play playing the DE.

that's what I said. he wanted to play DE cuz he felt there would be more time for pt, but they had him play LB since some things were already set as he was a late addition.

That makes little sense to me, but this is a pretty stupid topic to be arguing about anyways.

Someone is posting on the bunker that we have two silent verbals that will come out early next week. I would assume one of them is Tre Bishop, who will find out tomorrow if he qualifies. The other I have no idea on, but am very hopeful that his dad played some ball here awhile back.

No. I'm not expecting to land him, so if he comes, great. RR definitely needs a QB commit, but overall I'm ecstatic with how things are going- 14 4 stars, in the running for several more, and it looks like worst case scenario is only losing a couple of kids. All I could have asked for after the coaching change.

He was not too happy about being switched to LB for the Army game. I think he wants to be a a DPR guy.
