This sounds pessimistic, but I don't like getting my hopes up.
On the site for Valenti's show, a guy says he knows a PSL source that says Perry is a long shot to go to MSU, if any shot at all. That said, this guy also mentioned that this was the same source that told him RoJo was a Michigan lock, but I'm personally inclined to believe it. The only outside shot we have, IMO, comes from Dantonio's roots on the defensive side of the football, and I don't think RRod has sent nearly as many defensive studs to the NFL (if any) as Dantonio has. That being said, I'm not planning on getting Mr. Perry.
And I'll probably change my mind on that seven more times until Signing Day.

it is definitely not an outside chance. that guy is definitely a UM source who thinks everyone of any significance has an outside shot of going to msu. MSU has a LEGIT shot at this. USC and other football sites involved with Perry think MSU will be a VERY tough out. Prolly the same source that said Smith was going to UM for a visit and committing to them

Yeah, kind of shocking really. Sounds like BK sold him on basically starting day 1.

"VERY" tough means "Main competition: Michigan State Spartans"? That's all USC site said, not "VERY tough"

I think the guys who subscribe to rivals in this thread are a little touchy. Perhaps that's b/c paying all that money hasn't gotten them squat for inside info.

They lost Mister Simpson (RB) to Cincy 1-2 years ago from a transfer, some recruits just want to get instant PT and have little competition.

Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right. I just figure, if the guy was just trying to spew stuff, he wouldn't have mentioned the RoJo thing, but we'll see I guess. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than utterly dissapointed.

I don't really expect to get all that much "inside info", but I do like having more information than I'd get normally.

he originally verballed to WVU. it would have been kind of funny for WVU to have dj woods and jd woods in the same class. not better than our chris rucker squared though.

Wasn't Woods originally a WVU oral commit?

It's actually worse.
He was a Nebraska commit, then of course Callahan was fired.
Then he was a WVU commit, and RR left.
Now he's going to Cincy, where I'd bet a decent sum of money BK will be gone in a year or two.

That's kinda troubling, isn't it? I don't think Lloyd would have ever lost a recruit to Cinci.

Umm..no? Lloyd has lost players to lesser tier schools before.
RR has already landed 2 four stars and has done a very good job keeping the recruiting class intact. I'm absolutely ecstatic at how recruiting is going so far.

I try and stay away from that. One thing I will say is I am a bit surprised at how his class has shaped up so far. He really impressed me last year when he got in it for Rojo and Barksdale and landed Jeremiah. With MSU going to a bowl I thought he might have a bit more momentum this year. Of course, still over 2 weeks to go so we'll have to see how it plays out. He HAS to get Ingram.
EDIT- I'm also a bit surprised he hasn't gotten more Ohio kids. He's done better in Michigan so far than I thought he would do, but worse in Ohio.

yeah, hopefully he visits. If he DOES commit, I am warning people that he will NOT be a LB recruit as he is listed. he wants to play the fullback/h back position on offense. That is the only chance we have to get him. He WILL go to a school where he can play that position.
to treadhead: i totally understand. I will be disappointed if we do not get him, but I will not be surprised if we don't. I'm not gonna worry about it. if we get him great, if not it sux, but we'll land some big ones at some point.
to bigm: why do you think state has to land ingram? It would be great if we did, but there are two stellar rbs in michigan next year. caper and the other guy (cant think of his name).

I think just from a psychological perspective- a 4 star, in-state legacy kid at a position of need? Dantonio needs to land him. I see what you're saying about the 09 kids, but IMO Ingram is a guy Dantonio must get to get some momentum in-state.
