Meaning what? A top 20 player leaving the state of MI to go to a Top 3 program in the country? Waiting until the last minute to announce?

No, the Muskegon coaches stopping any contact with anyone other than UM.

Ahhh. Good call, i forgot about them keeping info from the players. Yea, that was pretty shady. I thought the initial comment was insinuating more about the Johnson's.

not saying that's the way it has gone or will go down, or that he is who the orange is, but i'm just saying. you don't know what is going through the mind of a recruit. not everybody bolts to the "premier" programs.
also, if everybody was discounting when perry said "and that's what i'm going to play there for" at the banquet, then why is everybody so quick to give up when he lists msu 4th (in a um interview, no less)
anyway, this is just me being wishful, but at the same time, i have been in sales for a long, long time, and if nothig else, i have the ability to read people, and what i'm reading from perry from afar is that, well, all may not be what it seems.

I hope you're right, mitch. I really do.
I want Perry and Ingram to come to MSU, but not just because they're superb 4* football prospects. They both seem like high character guys who will work hard for any program and have a good head on their shoulders regardless of where they go.
Sometimes you get an athlete who "transcends" and becomes a cornerstone recruit because he's a great person as well. Perry and Ingram seem to be the total package from what I've read and heard. Their abilities and potential as players go without saying, but they could also really stand for something as pillars in a rising football program. At least, that's what I envision.
I'm still holding out hope.

Frankly, there isn't much difference between a No. 20 and a No. 35 class, especially when you take the coaches and the kind of development/guidance they'll receive once they get on campus into consideration. That has been 's bread and butter -- he has the track record of a practice and game-day developer, vs. a living room legend. His classes will never blow you away numbers-wise, but I think we'll be more than pleased with the results when all is said and done. Keep the long-term in mind if the short-term has you down on Feb. 6.

He was scheduled to visit, but the coaching staff cancelled and told him they had received an LB commit. That is why if I guessed on the orange reported by SM, I'd go with Steve Gardiner.

So, it seems that the orange is either Morgan or Gardiner. Any chance we take both?

From Rivals...Akron (Ohio) Hoban three-star safety Will Fleming said it would always be tough to turn down his father's offer to play for him at Akron.

Holy crap. I can't believe you said this.
You don't want to get a kid because his name will be embarrassing to MSU if he's ever busted for drugs? Do you have a particular reason to think he'll be busted by drugs?
Can't believe MODS don't delete this crap. Welcome to my ignore list jerkoff.

The thing that cracks me up about the Yourhighness name haters is that if the kid is a bad apple he is going to be an embarrassment no matter what his name is.
For example what is so unusual about a name like Stephen Holman?
Let's see what kind of judge of the individual Coach D is before we heap on stupid remarks. Yourhighness might be a Jehuu type of guy and not a Batman/SirD.

Quincy Barr
The MSU Scout site dropped another ball when they reported FL DE Quincy Barr was visiting East Lansing this past weekend. Barr was at Hofstra instead and gave them a verbal. Thanks Scout !
From the Saint Petersburg Times:
Sharks' Barr chooses Hofstra
Riverview defensive end Quincy Barr didn't want to waste another trip when his "heart was with Hofstra."
Barr orally committed to Hofstra late Monday night, just one day after returning home from an official visit to the Long Island area campus. The 6-foot-5, 223-pound senior, who racked up 63 tackles last season, said he was offered a visit to Boise State for this weekend, but "didn't want to go anywhere else."
"Everything is right (at Hofstra)," Barr said. "It was a good atmosphere - it felt like my second home."

If we don't end up landing perry or ingram...
would this be the worst recruiting year since 2003 and 2005? or would this even be worse than both of those years?

MSU needs a couple Illinoisesque recruiting years to get back on track. Not going that way so far.
