The 18 kids we have right now are the best class we've had in 5 years.

For some reason, I think Coach D will figure it out. Last year, no one thought Devin Thomas, Greg Jones, or Jonal St. Dic would have the impact they did. I look for more nice surprises when the season begins. Recruiting is important, but coaching is more important.

This thread = failure
Come on man, this is way better than 2003, and 2005 wasn't bad at all. Most of our starters this year will be from that class.

I guess in my mind Anderson is included in this class; so to me, it is already a success.

Kansas should probably scrap their program, too. Their recruiting classes have been atrocious. Wisconsin too. You can't compete in the Big10 with the type of talent they brought in the past several years

even w/ neither of those guys, i think this is still a good class. unlike JLS, md didn't spend his summer playing on mountains and going to the jim rome roadie. he was evaluating talent in person.
that's big, and i think there are guys in this class who are going to be big surprises. maybe they don't have the star power, but they can play. hell, go watch martin's film. nobody has ever heard of him, but he's a freak.
that being said, i think state gets one, possibly, possibly both. doubt they get neither.

Maybe they had been recruiting him for so long and he felt a better connection with the players and staff. I'm not even sure he was offered by MSU.

Prior to his visit, Morgan had already committed to Florida Atlantic and now he has "some things to figure out." This certainly causes some doubt that he is the undisclosed orange on SM.

The only fly in that ointment was a hint that this recruit was a recent visitor, of which Gardiner is not.
It would be a let down to be honest as Gardiner was waiting for an offer from us all year and we didnt offer until recently.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the orange is Rhonne Sanderson because it seemed like the theme on the SM board was that this pick-up would upset some Wolvies. Maybe Rhonne is certain that he won't get an offer from Bobby Bowden and doesn't want to waste his time going to see enRod this weekend. Hence a verbal to .

i'm getting a funny feeling re: the orange.
just sort of reading between the lines in PKs posts, looking at time lines, schedule rearrangements, description of the recruit, the overall situation....

No, if its a 09 kid they should release it next Thursday, after the current classes LOI's are in.

yup, i would be shocked if it was an 09 kid...unless its a QB, and QB is not a position of need for state.

Why is that exactly? Frankly, I'd pretty much bank on us getting neither.

what a ridiculous post. Worst recruiting classes are classes with people like cole corey or Tinney that never laid foot on the playing field. John L had some highly ranked classes but he also took a ton of chances on players with horrible character. Look at sirD, williams and Davis. All those guys were good prospects coming in but they had horrible attitudes and spent a lot of time getting disciplined. MD is going after character guys. If we have to settle for 3* players that fill position needs immediately I am ok with that. Whats the point of bringing in 4 *s that rob people or screw up when they get to campus? There has been a lot of hype about Minne's class but I would suspect they are similar to john L's... they took some chances on kids and we have nothing but solid recruits (character-wise)
