msu parted ways with tinker a while ago. corey isn't really being recruited by anyone...looks like he's not going to qualify academically. Yes, Whaley did when he got offered by WVA and decided to take an official there instead.

if ingram decides to go to alabama, it will not because this staff did not do a good enough job of recruiting him.

Agreed, it appears they have done everything short of kidnapping him.

Agreed.
Again, he either likes the idea of being a "legacy" recruit and following in his father's footsteps or he doesn't. That has very little to do with the way MSU has recruited him. Tough call -- seems like it should be a slam dunk in our favor, but sometimes, the kid wants to make a name for himself elsewhere. Can't fault him for it if that's the case IMHO.

Here is my take on the close of this class. I feel these are the contenders and we will get 5 of them:
- Perry - Have to win the distance factor here vs. USC. And the Carroll interviewing the ATL for an entire day...will he be around.
- Ingram - good chance...better than 50/50 with Bama as 2nd in my mind.
- Khoury (yep) - I believe he was in EL last Sat - signing day
- Bradford - wild card. I am upbeat on this one..could be the orange
- Bishop (purely grades at this point)
- Morgan (not looking good)
- Gardiner - could also be the orange but I think he is in addition to the orange
- Jude (a lock unless we get a particular recruit(s) and pull the scholly, which is the only reason I can think he is waiting until signing day)
- Omameh - unknown to me how serious this one is
Then 1 signing day surprise in addition to the above....either mystery TE or a UM flip (other than Khoury)
Then again, this list could change in 24 hrs..

Awfully optimistic. Hope you're right.
Is Carroll still in the WASH mix?

Wait, so I assume you're believing the one insider and discounting Michigan re: Perry? I don't think that is wise
And why do you still think Khoury visited? Both Rivals sites are saying he didn't. Are you saying Dorsey is lying to protect Khoury/Dantonio?

Yes, believing the couple insiders more than the manipulated quotes. Plus, it is my prediction and being wrong wont kill me, so I dont worry about wise.
I think kids are keeping their cards close...and not telling the entire story to recruiting jockeys that call their cell phones. Dorsey is not lying, he is telling what HE was told, or a version of it.

You guys might be right that Perry is just telling the recruiting guys one thing while thinking another (though its funny that 2 different sites from 2 different schools both quoted Perry saying MSU was 4th), but the notion that Josh "manipulated" the Perry quote is just absolutely ridiculous.

Give it a rest. This whole we MUST beat MSU for every head to head recruit thing is beyond pathetic. You get so friggin riled up when it come certain recruits.

What? I'm not getting riled up- but I find the notion, that seems to be perpetuated on SpartanMag all the time, that the Wolverine guys make up quotes, intentionally leave MSU off recruits lists, etc., is just ridiculous.

One of the reasons I dont want to believe the 4th comment is even USC was quoted just prior to the visit that MSU was the school to beat. Granted we had the only visit at that point.
Then right after the visit, even UM and Miami jump MSU without even visiting them?
So, I am ignoring the quotes in the press etc and focusing more on reading between the lines, comments from insiders and my optimism.
But the Khoury discussion is another example where I dont think he was telling the entire story on his cell phone to Matt.

You "don't think that is wise"? Who GAF? We're just fans speculating and hoping on a pro- MSU board. Sheesh.

Get a ****ing life you ****bag. Go do some work, go outside, talk to your family. Try taking a few days off and do something productive. There are other things in life than following the football recruiting of a school you hate. You ****ing little loser.

He just can't stand the ideal that MSU Football might get the number 1 recuit from the State of Michigan!

Hey. Iv'e enjoyed all the so-called good back and forth between the guys are giving info and opinions on the recruiting. I am a bystander just reading the stuff to get updated alittle because I dearly want MSU to get some good recruits. Big M you are alright and I respect your opinions.

that's kind of a good point. i mean, he is averaging over 3500 posts a year on an msu message board.
hell, i'm on the computer a lot, and i have 0 posts to non- msu boards. i don't even post on SM.

The fact of the matter is that UM recruiting directly affects MSU recruiting, as we often compete over the same recruits. Big M gives brings a lot of information over from the UM boards that we would not otherwise have and I am glad he does.
As for the stuff about him posting on a MSU board, isn't it obvious he's secretly a State fan? I'm glad you guys rip on him so much so he can save face.
Edit: And on top of that he doesn't respond to all these personal attacks like some of the MSU posters do, who go on to wage three freaking pages of personal attacks against each other in a recruiting thread.
