that's what makes it all the better. How is NBC going to tolerate the horrible year ND is going to have in 2007?

according to Gray Himself. MSU's definitely still in front. Nebraskas rivals site ran an article where they claimed its a dead heat between us and Nebraska but Gray hasnt even been out there yet. I doubt he'd want to go that far from home.

Seriously though, proximity can only help if he already leans this way.

There's a very good reason why Wisconsin has a "better" football program. They traditionally play an easier schedule. Look at their last 10 years of success... they've played some major creampuffs for non-conf while also avoiding teams like Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State in the Big-10.
Not to say they don't have their crap together but if we were to drop ND and instead pick up another wiener MAC team in its place and perhaps catch some luck by avoiding a Big-10 juggernaut once in a while, we'd manage to get a few extra wins...

But MSU generally beats ND. And has been blown out by Indiana, and lost to Illinois.

Yeah, I was thinking about going to the Cal game, and tell my wife I'm taking her to see her sister! It might not be so funny at the game though, a la the Ducks at Autzen which was the last game I attended.

Probably Caulton Ray or Ethan Ruhland.

Pryor attended O$U advanced camp and is trimming his list again soon. should be expect MSU to be "trimmed"? Although we offer a great chance to play with the b-ball team most would assume he will be goin somewhere like Texas, OSU, Fla, etc... basically havin him drop us could save the meltdown later in the year

IIRC, Pryor's said that football will be his main sport, but he'll play basketball to "help out" or something like that. I think a more realistic player we should (and are) going after is MarQuise Gray (who is Jonas' cousin I believe), a dual threat QB from Indiana.

he has MSU because he likes how MSU has a lot of players in the NFL including Drew Stanton and his ultimate goal is the NFL, he likes Minn because they are switching to a spread offense, and he likes Oregon because their uniforms are "gorgeous"...seems like he would be better off going to a pro style offense( MSU) if he wants to eventually play in the NFL

Well, we know one thing for sure: he has awful taste when it comes to uniforms.

M. Gray vs. Pryor
I wonder how much of a sell-job these top-rated schools are doing on Pryor as a QB. I keep hearing these Vince Young comparisons, and maybe that's close with his legs, but this kid has a noodle arm if I've ever seen one.
Check out his videos on Rivals some time. I don't think I saw even one spiral in there -- or one that was even close to a spiral. And, none of his passes looked crisp or had any zip on them.
He seems like a great athlete, yes, and don't get me wrong. I'd love to see the guy in green and white -- but from what it's sounding like, we're going to get cut pretty soon. And if that's the case, to me it's not that big of a loss if he stays at QB.
At this point, I would've been drooling over E.J. Manual and his mechanics/arm strength/athleticism. Marqueis Gray can at least put some zip on the ball, and it doesn't look like every pass is a wounded duck.
It could all be moot, though, if this Foles kid pans out. From everything you read -- plus what you can see of his highlight clips -- he looks like the real deal if he stays healthy.
Sure he was "only" a 3-star, but he's got a big arm, throws crisp passes that are on the money and he's got an NFL-type body right now. And, I'll take a chance any day on a guy who breaks Drew Brees' high school records.
What'd I'd really like to see us address in linebacking, especially in the middle. We need some ass-kickers in there again. Gordon, Greg Jones (true frosh), Rigan and others should be fine as OLBs.

I think Pryor's size and overall playmaking ability will keep him at QB. Plus, Vince Young didn't have a cannon arm at that age.
Too many people look at a HS player and compare him to a college or NFL player at when they are in college or the NFL. This happens in basketball recruiting with fans as well. It's so goddamn annoying.
