Lets go back to this 'Orange'.

A bit more rumors/info has come out.

It has been confirmed that Gardiner is NOT the Orange. It obviously was/is not Yourhighness.

These are some of the latest names:

Deon'tae Pannell - Football Recruiting
Justin Staples Profile - Football Recruiting

Staples I guess is good friends with Delvin Roe.

The kid 'supposedly' has over 10 offers, 6 from big ten....

Should be interesting annoucement tomorrow.

These guys look good, but didn't they say (yes, taken with a grain of salt) that the orange would be huge--someone to build a program around?

These recruiting sites...spartanmag, rivals, scout...all of them do NOT have the same information for the Spartans that they do for other schools. Other coaches such as Zook, Carol, Meyer, DickRod and the majority of the others, talks to the recruiting sites directly "off the record". Coach D DOES NOT do that. Who the hell knows if they are right or not. If you want to go directly by what the kids tell these services, fine. Feel free. But I guarantee that there are quite a few kids that we have offered/talked to that has not been reported. Look for a couple of "surprise" commits when Dantonio reveals the class to the public because he will not talk to the recruiting sites like other coaches do. And I feel bad for people who take what rivals/scouts says as the bible because they don't know it all.

We have Jones and Gordon. They're sophomores. In the middle, we have Rouse, Decker, etc. Again, where is the proof that LB is the biggest problem spot/most immediate need on this team?

Ok there boss, because aside from Jones and Gordon, all of those guys have proven that they can play at a high level, right? I'm not saying they won't but come on, when has JLS proven that he can recruit quality high school players, notice that I didn't say juco. Rolf and Winston weren't Plan A recruits either, so get off your fricking high horse, you arrogant d-bag.

Oh please, what is this random speculation from another forum? Pannell is going to Penn State, and what would make you think that Staples would switch from Illinois? THE ORANGE WILL BE THE JUDE BROTHER!

First, unless you've got some incredible sources you have no idea what the story is with these kids, what's important to them (soft serve ice cream!), or what the staff is doing offer-wise. Kids turning schools down happens to every college including USC, get used to it, especially when MSU's last two seasons have been 4 - 8 and 7 - 6.

People watching closely know what an improvement there was since Dantonio took over, but many of these recruits don' watch EVERY MSU game. It's going to be this way when the staff goes hard after the best kids who have a ton of options, and until the team has a few solid seasons under it's belt. MSU is going to lose out on kids next year too, even if they win 9 games.

Bottom line is, this staff has done a great job in identifying kids, reopening contacts with MI & OH H.S.'s, and in battling for kids right up to the wire. IMO this class is already better than last years, and could still end up much, much better.

If I were a top notch recruit, I'd definately commit if you had ice cream

Am I seeing correctly that MSU has no QB recruit or is rivals missing something in their list? If they do not is this because of the amount they have on the team? Would seem to be best to take at least 1 a year.

it MAY be a lb, or it could be dl, ol, te...all four are positions of needs. No hints out there that is if for sure a lb as far as i have seen.
