let's think here for a moment...most of those guys won't be playing the rb position anyway...only 2-3 at most.

Arguable. D Line- As good. Linebackers- Better D-Backs-Better, QB-Same Receivers-Worse O-Line-Same Running backs-Same
Thinner at TE and OL only. Depth will be better next year, but young.

wow. I am shocked that more of you aren't talking about Ingram to Bama. Should the sunshine blowers over at SpartanMag still grade this class as a B+. If MSU is a B+ what does that make OSU and UM?

Without MI or NP, this class is around a B... but that level is for MSU based on needs and how well we filled them. We got a lot of major needs filled and some serious depth taken care of. MI and NP would just make this class excellent for us.
OSU and UM have different needs and expectations right now. For UM, if they don't land Pryor, it'll be a B class for them (at best).

Good point, moron. After all, there's only a 5-6 page thread about it not so far back.

That is a pretty average class for UM. I could see how MSU's is better according to SpartanMag.

what about depth? That is how UM seems to be beating MSU every year anyway.

I hope this hasn't been beat to death, but one thing i noticed about this recruiting class is the speed. I counted 9 players with 40's below 4.5. That is alot more then most of our classes. Do you see this as intentional? or is it just the luck of the draw

No way. UM needs a QB no doubt..but come on. UM is going to probably land upwards of 15 4 stars. For a class with a coaching change, that is unprecedented. A B class? Assuming they land a QB prospect or 2, no way. Pryor would be great, but if they land a top QB next year and a few prospects this year, that hardly qualifies as a disaster.

4 stars dont always play like 4 stars at the next level. the majority of 2 and 3 stars that select uofm magically become 4 stars. I also dont see your stud qb prospect.
no ones saying the class is a disaster but it's average by uofm standards. QB's the biggest need. If you dont satisfy your biggest lead it's ard to give your class an A.

Of course not every 4 star is going to be a stud. But generally, the more higher ranked kids the better. And UM is going to have a lot of them.
And yes, QB is a big need, but if they get a top one in 09 then I don't think it is that big a deal- Threet is going to be the guy next year regardless.

Me thinks guys like Burrell, Adams, and Hoover are 4 stars if they pick UM.

Maybe, maybe not. Don't act like MSU hasn't had several "bumps" the last 2-3 years.

yea from 2 stars to 3 stars. Isn't a 2 star a MAC level recruit and a 3 star a big 10 level recruit? So if he has an MSU offer and say even an Indiana, shouldn't that be enough to qualify for 3 stars? I just think if he's good enough for a MSU offer, he should be 3 stars, unless were like his only offer and hes a sleeper.

When is everyone going to get off the star thing? You could have a 2 or 3 star kid, but as soon as the top schools get a whiff he gets bumped to a 4 or 5. It's all just a guessing game. Hypothetically, a 6'7" 300lb lineman should dominate in HS. Is he still going to dominate when he's facing the same in college? Why was Jeff Backus a good lineman in college yet can't block **** in the pros? A star rating is no guarantee.

I think this is the point
This is one of the best classes SCum has had for awhile.
However, it doesn't really matter to us. We consistently have classes ranked 10-20 spots lower than yours and we're extremely competitive almost every year. We're getting better, SCums getting. . umm. . . different.

Well, outside of the last few JLS teams, this has been the case since 1990.
