yes and every year we come very close to beating U of M, even tho we have way lower ranked classes. Just add some solid classes and coaching and we should be able to get past the barely losing to you part and actually start to beat you.

I hate the typical scUM fans on the Fort who laugh at every prospect we get and say how bad we are, yet in the past 4 years weve gone to OT twice, lost in the last 2 minutes of a game, and only one blow out. For our "crappy" players, we sure havn't made U of M look that much better than us

MSU has never historically had much of a problem being competitive with UM when they play each other. The problem has been maintaining that competitiveness throughout the year.

Couldn't agree more, the whole star thing is completely subjective and not to be taken to seriously.

show me a statistic

how do you know it's not Cone , if Terrelle pryor shows up he's certainly the QB, Dominick Britt cant throw for shyt but dick-rod wants a runner.

Did I miss something??

Are we for sure out on Ingram??

I haven't seen any solid info on this other than the post a ways back saying how some random poster on another site said he was down to Bama and Iowa. It seems like everyone is assuming that this is the truth and is just laying down already.

I would be happy if he came here, and I understand his value to our recruiting in general as far as him being a legacy recruit. However, if he goes elsewhere I wouldn't be completely let down. Solid recruiting class thus far, addressing areas of need, and lots of speed. Plus, we are already lining up some very solid kids for next year ... and I can't remember the last time that was happening.

it is still between msu/bama from anyone that is credible (and it has came from multiple people).

Hell, let's just say MSU's entire class would be 4 stars if they commited to UM!

I know we like to joke about MSU taking 2 star MAC players at times. Iowa just took a LB from St. Ig in Cleveland who had offers from Yale and Air Force.

Iowa's really hurting. Illinois and ND have both killed them in Illinois, where they were getting some kids.

Piss off. scum has a lot of good players in their (your) class but have you seen any of Keyshawn's film? Definitely a 4 star if he went somewhere else. Big M, you know your stuff and are usually not the typical walmart wolvie but how can you deny that scum gets breaks in the star system where MSU doesn't?

No time to go through all the pages of this thread. Can I get an update? Is there still a second 2009 orange out there? Is that it or are there other silent verbal(s)?

Martin went from unranked to a 5.7. That's a high jump and I doubt a UM commitment would have made him go higher.

And yes, I admit that UM commits/offers get a bump sometimes, but I think that's dramatically overplayed by MSU fans. UM also has guys that fall throughout the year- see Brandon Moore, McGuffie, Hemingway last year.

Yeah, but really, you're just using the exception to the rule theory. I mean, you also have guys like Andre Johnson, Brian Urlacher, Peyton Manning, Ladanian who were taken real high and are showing why they were.

Personally, I think the star system shows you "potential". Sure, there are always going to be exceptions to the rule, but as a whole I think that the star system is usually pretty accurate. People on here are always saying its not really a big deal, yet if we land either Perry or Ingram the pandemonium on this board will be quite high I think.

For further proof of bias, check out this Johnny Adams highlight vid and tell me that he shouldn't be a 4 star.

We found someone who can return punts

John is a 5.7 our highest ranked *** but it doesn't really matter I say the main way these sites should rate the players is the amount and quality of the offer because I think BCS head coaches have a good idea what they are doing.

Yes Mr. Adams will make an impact from Day One, allowing us to forget the days of Terry Love.

Hoover was a 4*, until around the time he committed. From the actual game I of his I was at, I would definitely say he is a 4* DE, as he can step in against Cal in the fall and possibly be the starter.

Adams and Burrell are maybes, Burrell did have some interest from DickRod.
