So what in the heck evaluation were we doing for three months? Maybe the kid can ball real good, but maybe our guys aren't real good judges of character.
This is the way things often turn out in the D. The trust quotient does not appear to be overflowing.
You must have to be very resilient to be a football coach. I think Mark's faith will serve him well.

Hold up..this was the first time Perry has had the opportunity to really be at UM and hear their pitch- all summer it had been MSU (I believe his team had camp in E.L or something).

Do you think the fact that the national media thinks our program is the laughing stock of the big ten has anything to do with it? We keep recruiting guys that are basically below big ten level, idiots on here go ga, ga over the fact that a warm body has actually signed with MSU, not realizing that their talent level is substandard and will only generate more less than 500 seasons. I gotta say, I am not impressed with MD's recruiting ability at all right now. Still, we got to ride him out for the long run. We chose this guy and he has got to be our coach for at least the next 10 years. The program can't take anymore coaching changes.

JLS Juco's or 2 star nobodys, the results will still be the same. Crappy football. I was hoping these recruits would buy into MD and what he wants to accomplish. So far, its basically let's just get warm bodies in here cause nobody worth a crap wants to come here. Different coach, same crappy recruiting, which means more crappy football. I can't tell you how many alumni I have talked to that decided not to renew their season tickets next year. What is there to get excited about? New coach? Yippee. Is he recruiting the same level of player that JLS recruited? Yup. What's that mean? Answer: more 4 and 8 crap. The apathy is about as bad as the Muddy Waters years.

I blame our futility on you tanfan. If you would quit complaining and hand out some damn "cake" down there MSU might actually get a solid commit out of FL

If you think were recruiting below big ten level talent, you dont know what your talking about. We may not be getting verbals, but were going after the kids. Saying were not at least attempting to get them is absolutely wrong.

You just posted we aren't getting any verbals. That means, nobody with big ten level talent wants to commit to MSU! That means they are not buying into MD and what he wants to do. That pisses me off and it should piss you off too. Gdammit!!!!! I read this thread and I just wanted to spit fire I am so gdamn tired of crappy football. Eff it

WTF do you expect? MD is doing a fine job, especially since HE HAS NOT COACHED ONE GAME YET AT MSU! I believe that MD is the guy because he came from a program (tOSU) that knows how to do it. When he was at MSU as a assistant we were pretty good. He coached with $aban, and like him or not, he can coach. Give it some time. Damn, it is only July and you are already giving up.

WTF are you blathering about?
MD's got 4* Tyler Hoover and 3* Charles Burrell already, which for MSU fball is just fine. You tell me the last time MSU loaded up with high level commits in the summer of a new coaching regime, or hell name me the last time MSU did that period.
MD currently has MSU in good standing with guys like;
Terrell Pryor
Nick Perry
Deontae Pannell
Fred Smith
Jonas Gray
Suppo Sanni
Kenny Demens
Marquise Gray
etc..etc...
You don't even follow recruiting, yet you chime in to take shots at MD. Give your lame ass schtick a rest, or at least keep it to your off topic threads.

I am not an obsessed freak like you. But what I have read in this thread indicates more of the same. Your last sentence pretty much summarized how I feel.

**** you, you ignorant clown. I don't step in and give my thoughts on how best to run down an ambulance, so the rest of the board would also appreciate if you just kept your mouth shut when it comes to recruiting/sports related topics.
Mark Dantonio grabbed a 4* top 250 DT in his first month on the job something JLS couldn't do in 4 yrs, then locked up a QB from Texas, a place we never get players from. Yet you come on here with "well from what i've read", what the **** have you read? give me a link grandpa.

No one has signed yet this year. Give it time man. Besides MD did better in what, 2 months, than JLS did in 4 years. MD is hitting Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania hard. That is a good thing.

tan,
at first i hated you. since then, i have come to enjoy you and your antics fully -except when you come into recruiting threads. your attitude (i wont call it a schtick because im sure its just how you operate) doesnt fit well into a recruiting thread. no, MD does not have many verbals now. we are all worried. but if you look at who we are after, it is promising. hell, MD put together a much better recruiting class than slappy had (baring the Nichol decommit) lined up for the feb. 2007 signing day.
you are doing the same thing (actually the exact opposite) of the people who are expecting a top 20 recruiting class lined up before the season starts. just give the guy time. hes a proven winner.

I know this sounds funny, but were not getting any recruits, but were not losing any more. Not a ton of prospects making their decision at this time...
