Ugh... I miss recruiting. I made the horrible decision to cancel my subscription so I wouldn't get distracted from studying from the bar. I feel so left out. Well, lunch is over, back to the library.

Thanks for the updates guys.

Sincerely,

Me, a recovering recruiting addict.

Dantonio has no desire for anyone's leftovers. They are not afraid to go after anyone that they think can play ball for MSU. This staff truly believes that MSU can offer these kids anything that UM and OSU can offer them (of course, we might not WANT to offer some of the things that OSU is willing to offer). Dantonio and some of his assistants have been to the mountain top and they firmly believe that they can get there again. You have to love the confidence. That's going to come across when selling these kids. The best kind of salesmen are the ones that truly believe in their product.

I really do feel sorry for you.

I almost cancelled once but I knew I wouldn't be able to make it last.

I don't really care if UM or OSU offer. I hope they dont. He does have offers from Wisconsin and Minny, two programs with great running back traditions. He also has offers from Florida and Nebraska. MSU needs to keep the high level kids from getting out of the state. That is step #1 IMO whether UM or OSU offer or not. JLS failed to do this.

What's the point of UM offering anyway? They'll just pull the offer if they learn that he is about to commit to MSU, so that they can save face.

I'd imagine if they offer him they think they can get him. I mean, I'm sure Gray's going to UM's camp just to improve, not impress the UM coaches.

This post couldn't be more on the money. Until we are even able to make a bowl game for lets say, 2 straight years we shouldnt worry about going head to head with scum or osu. Lets win first and then worry about the top two teams in the big 10+1. He's ranked high and has very good offers, that should be the end of the story.

It sounds like you're saying that Gray has no interest in UM, and doesn't even want an offer from them. And that UM would like to offer him, but considers it futile. But that wouldn't be considered as MSU beating UM in that recruiting battle?

Notice that I said "a chance", *******. If MSU can get one of Hoover and Fred Smith, it'll be a huge accomplishment.

Getting the best prospect in the state would certainly go a long ways towards turning this state Greener.

Lets just be honest with ourselves as MSU football fans. We could catch a huge break because although Gray is a top talent from the state scum doesnt want him because he doesnt fit their system. Luckily our system is perfect for his style.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable if OSU and UM didn't offer. Gray seems to shuffle through leaders weekly (ND, FL, now MSU) so the fewer options he has the better.

Getting Demens to commit would go a long ways to securing Gray.

Well, getting a prospect that UM doesn't offer really doesn't say that much about turning a state greener- getting guy UM goes all out for says more

And I'd be shocked if Smith doesn't commit to Michigan (assuming he commits soon).

One more small point- Gray is like 3 spots ahead of Cissoko and judged on Cissoko's offers and camp performances I don't think its a stretch to say he's the top guy in the state.

I dont believe FLA is really looking at Demens so I would think that would help too

I think its pretty clear Gray wants a UM offer. Thats why he is camping there.

UM already has a RB commitment, but that hasn't stopped them in the past. I expect Gray to get offered.

Yes it does. Getting the top guy in the state who has an offer from the national champions will signal something to other top prospects. It'll say that MSU is no longer a laughingstock and is a viable option for top Detroit athletes; not just the lower level prospects.

I really don't care whether or not you'd be shocked if Smith commits to Michigan. The sheer amount of times that you have been totally wrong is so staggering that your opinion is completely worthless on here now.

Yeah well, Rivals has him ranked ahead of Cissoko and since we are talking Rivals rankings, Gray is clearly the superior player. Therefore, I do think that it is a huge stretch to call Cissoko the top player in the state.

So if Beilein gets Green because Izzo didn't offer that means UM sent a message then? Somehow I doubt that opinion would be too popular.

And re: rankings. Stop being obtuse. Their is a 2 spot differential between the two in the national rankings.
