Trust me, you don't want tanfan to get on board with the team. He's cursed. Tanner, correct me if I'm wrong, but by mid-late in the 2001 season you got on board behind BW. Then what happened in 2002? And leading up to the UM game in 05, you had gotten fully on board with JLS and were praising him, saying how he is a demand excellencer and listens to you. We're what, 5-15 since then?
Keep the negativity coming, my man. MSU NEEDS YOU!!!

Ok, so now Smith says that he was thinking about playing both football and basketball in college, but now he's not so sure about that.
That is far and away the most clear indication that I've seen that he is going to UM.

Really? I'd say the opposite. He knows he can probably get some decent PT at U of M for basketball. At MSU, he'd be seeing much less of the floor. But, it's all speculation at this point

SpartanMag.com's top recruiting guy just talked to Smith and he is 100% sure is he is going to Michigan. Same for Gray except Nebraska. Gray even is talking about how excited he is for the Nebraska vs. USC game which he is going to attend.

Yes, the Beave is just as bad or worse..but find me a Rivals article that is so transparently a recruiting pitch and attempts to put MSU in such a poor light. Dorsey's a hack, plain and simple.

Mark Ingram Jr. is the best player MSU can get now in state IMO. Perry would be a steal but do you really believe he won't go to Michigan now?

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. I'm sure its only because his Mom and Ryan Mallet are making him do it
In all seriousness, kudo's to Dantonio for putting up a huge fight if true- Reading Smith's quotes from May I didn't think MSU had any kind of shot.

But Michigan doesn't even have a basketball team, do they? Actually, I read it as saying that he wants no part of UM basketball.
I think if he were at MSU, he'd like to play basketball to be part of something special, go to the tournament, etc., even if he was riding the pine (just like the reason he is going to UM for football). At UM, if his focus is on football, why would he want to bust his butt and risk the possibility of an NFL career derailed by injury to go out and be a part of that trainwreck in front of 2,000 clueless fans at Crisler?

Oh anything on Demens? I know he's probably Nebraska bound but he is supposed to visit UM tomorrow..my guess is its just a formality.

That is condescending. Dantonio gets no props until he starts getting some friggin commits.

Yep, he hops in the car on Thursday and hopefully makes it in time for the game on Saturday night. Then he leaves on Sunday and makes it home 2 weeks later.

Demens is a tough read. I think he wants to wait before he decides but it won't shock me if he verbals to Nebraska sooner than later. MSU is a perfect fit for him style wise and for playing time right away. Close to home. Sad that kids view MSU as the 3rd option.

don't get mad at him. blame the crap football we have put up with since President McPherson let Nick go and brought in a stooge like Bobby Williams and then overpaid for an @$$ clown like JLS. I doubt Kirk Ferentz and Barry Alvarez landed all the blue chippers they wanted in years 1 and 2 of their regimes.

Agree. I think the only shot UM or MSU has is if he decides to wait..but I easily foresee him committing to Nebraska soon once A- Gray commits there and B- Nebraska tells him he needs to commit or risk losing his scholarship.

By the way, I'm going to buy a company that has only turned a profit a handful of times over the past 40 years. Anyone want to invest their entire life savings in this company so that you can't invest anywhere else?
Oh yeah, you also have 8 months to see how I do with this company before you have to decide. But why not just promise me all your money now, eh? Maybe you can get some rich friends to dump all their savings and assets into this underperforming company, too.
Sound fun? PM me for details.

Why the hell do you think that you giving him "props" means anything at all to us?
You've ruined this board and you're ruining the scout board too. Get a f***ing life.

And they have rarely landed many blue chippers period, even after their best years (with just a handful of exceptions).

A prep D-lineman from Wichita committed to NU yesterday, so that brings the Husker 2008 recruiting class up to 19 total (prep + JC).

I'm not mad at him because of this recruiting crap. I'm mad because the guy takes over every single recruiting thread and thinks that he's such a saint in the way he praises Dantonio and that we need his sympathy or something.
"Oh haha, another top MI prospect coming to UM. But really great fight guys. I'm sure that Dantonio is going to be a helluva coach".
He needs to learn when not to post in certain situations and just be silent. Unfortunately the guy is on here 24/7 and his freaking alarm goes off any time anyone mentions anything UM related.
