Mike Fowler (MSU Scout Writer) just said on the radio...

"Tyler Hoover, the TE from Novi runs great routes, has soft hands, and will be a great replacement for Kellen Davis...."

Is Scout really that bad?

Hoover could be a very good tight end. However, I think he is going to be a STAR at defensive end. That combination of size and speed off the end just doesn't happen every day.

He's was a TE/DE in HS, and given our sudden abundance of DLs and current lack of TEs, you'd have to think there's a chance they'll give him a shot at TE.

Don Treadwell
at 6'7 he would be a huge target in the redzone
Maybe down the line he will play both ways a little ala Davis this past year

Yeah, Fowler could be right....with that size and speed..........very enticing TE prospect, as well as DE. (go two ways like Davis)

Hysterical that he dropped to a 3 star after he signed with us... and that he is the highest ranked 3 star you can be without being a 4 star- great example of much of the BS involved in these rankings...

Agree AA. I have a hard time with this one. But there are several "in-the-know" posters on SM that proclaim it was a one way ticket to TE.

Kid sounds like a great athlete.

I know that they had him lining up at TE for some snaps in bowl practices, just not sure that he doesn't play DE with spot TE duties.

Holy crap! This boy has been working! Sows a lot about his work ethic, MD looks like he has a serious nose for character.

Very true, although, I bet it isn't hard to put weight on a frame that big.

This kid is a DE first and, if he puts on more weight, a DT. He will never, and I mean never, play TE. Or move to the Oline for that matter.
