So is this class done?
With Omameh, Ingram and now Perry off the board, is that it for '08?

No, I don't think we are recruiting him anymore.

This day could not go any worst. (in the recruiting front)
Seriously.
Let's see....loss MI, NP and Omaneh. Get kick in the balls by the Freep/News and there "Why not MSU columns" and no pending late additions to a solid class.
At least we haven't had any decommits.

What a bunch of drama queens.
Until Dantonio can put a couple or three winning seasons together, it's going to be tough to get many 4 or 5 star kids. MSU has another solid class boys, stop the pissing & moaning and fire up for next season.
P.S. This class may not be done, it depends on whether the staff feels there is anyone unsigned after tomorrow who's worth signing. Last year Michael Jordan & Nick Foles signed on after signing day.

Pete Carroll had 15 (4 Star) recruits in his second year. Ok, its California and a fertile recruiting ground, just saying he can recruit his ass off.

Man, awful ending these past few days. It's really tough to remember the quality recruits we got earlier b/c of the recent failures. But guys like Trawick, Burrell, Hoover, Adams, Smith, Gardiner.... love em. Seem to be great players. We'll see, what's tough about this is it's gonna take 2 years or so until we have any clue what this class is like. Gotta keep winning games.... the rest will take care of itself.

Yeah, that's a good comparison. Dantonio can counter with Lake Lansing when the kid tells him what the Pacific was like, he can tell him to put another sweatshirt on when the kid visits in Dec. or January, and he can assure the kid that the MSU babes are hotter than those at the u of spoiled children, just wait until spring, you'll see!
Then Dantonio can launch into all the Heisman winners MSU has compared to USC, oh wait..., well how about all the guys MSU sent to the league vs USC, oh wait..., ok ok, how about all the recent BT titles and NC's...
Really, that has to be the worst comparison ever made, anywhere.

Nice post, made me feel a little better about this class. I just keep telling myself that this class will help with depth more than anything, I think we have some solid three stars, some that can fight for PT right away ans some that may just become solid role players.

Yeah, it's always disappointing to think there's a chance and then come up short with a couple of heavyweights, again. It makes perfect sense though, until Dantonio shows MSU is on the rise. It's going to take two more good seasons with bowls, or an excellent season next year.
In the mean time I wouldn't be surprised if Williams is another Greg Jones. Trevor Anderson is coming online, Fred Smith will be good, and I don't have ANY doubt there are others in this class who will contribute next season.

Natron you hit the nail on the head. Today can not over shadow the likes of:
Smith
Burrell
Adams
Hoover
Worthy
Gardiner
Trawick
Ray
Woods
Winston
Martin
Robinson
Ruhland
McDonald
J. Williams
We have a solid class.

I also think that Detroit guys are going to open up things for the future in the D. I think Winston is going to be a stud. A lot of these guys could contribute early and with the red-shirt guys we have a very good future. I think Andre Anderson has the potential to be as good as Javon in the near future. Mason before he was fired compared him to Maroni.

Yeh, Illinois had to string together a few winning seasons to turn things around.

Please give some other examples of programs that have been able to do what Illinois has, as opposed to those who havent...

I think Dinardo killed LSU and then Saban was able to come in and quickly build it up. Saban took 4 years to win a NC, I think.
