I think he gave it a C last year. He added that he is a "tough grader"

At this time last year it was a C, but Dantonio upgraded that during the season. It will be interesting to see what happens next season, should someone ask the same question.

Unbelievable. The guy is paid a lot of money to put positive spin on true mediocrity. Like he would ever rate it below a B-?

Since anything below this would be negative spin (admitting mediocrity), the scale is really A+ to B-. Therefore what he is really saying is....MSU did not do very well. Ok flame away all you want. The recruiting class is really subpar no matter how you want to spin it or trash my post.

And with that C+ class he had what, 5 players who made the 2 deep during the year with one freshman All American. At this point in the program I'm satisfied with this class as it shows progress which is what I;m interested in seeing. I don't expect the results many are seeking in terms of record until season 4 or 5. The progress and growth from game one to the end of the season this year was huge. Have patience and look for progress and growth from year to year.

Five things really stand out.

First - 13 out of 21 kids are in-state. That is a much higher percentage than past years.

Second 19-21 kids from MI-OH. Again much higher, none of the unheard of sleepers that in many cases with Slappy never even made it to campus.

Third - No JUCOs

Fourth - Dantonio really emphasized the atheltic ability of each kid. He made it clear that he expects every kid he signed to make an impact. Unlike Slappy - you can comfortably believe him when he says that.

Fifth - Almost all these went to the MSU camp. That is absolutely essential for evaluating their ability and again should reduce the number of flops.

We shouldn't expect tremendous recruiting classes until we have stability and success. Dantonio will get it done, if you don't believe me look at what his players at Cinci did this year.

thats what i dont get. people on here will believe absolutly ANYTHING that he says. do they not realize that he is trying to maintain his job here???

He can say that because it was not a true, full year of recruiting. The excuse is already built in....Well, the class was a C or C- ((but I have a built in excuse, as everyone knows)
