I bet if Caper announces this week that he's a Spartan, we'll see the silent lifted immediately. Can you imagine the buzz if Maxwell announces along with Caper this week? I think it would be more of a buzz than MSU has ever had. Having our first 5 commitments be potentially all four-five star players. Wow, I'm getting gitty just thinking about it.

I still can't see Caper and Baker both going the same place...but, I will love it if it is true

There is A LOT of buzz about him not only commiting to MSU, but doing so within this week. On top of that, Valenti said the birds are chirping about a commitment to the Spartans this week and because he was dead-on with Baker, I'll believe him about this as well. I have a strong feeling Caper is a Spartan.

No, because there was a reason that the silent verbal was silent. The guys at Spartan Mag said it would make sense, and everyone would understand and know who it was if they knew the reason. So, Caper committing to MSU wouldn't change the Silent Verbal. That is still supposed to be lifted in the next few weeks (I'm thinking 2-3, by the next Junior Day March 16th)
If it is Maxwell, like many suppose it is, what is coming up that would make sense for him to delay? Are they picking QB's for the Elite 11 camp soon?

At this rate, I'm gonna be kinda dissapointed if Caper isn't a spartan this week.
Dantonio wants him to make a good decision, and that's a good thing. But if he feels "comfortable", I really hope he commits. Hope he realizes how big of a boost (in terms of momentum) this would give us.

Elite 11 camp is coming up, and that would have to be the reason. He hasn't gotten much national recognition, and they guys at the Elite 11 camp last year said that he out oerformed the Seniors, so I would bet that once he camps there, and (fingers crossed) he would announce.

So is the concern that if he announces for the Green and White then he won't be selected?

Thats what I've always thought - not sure though.
Do we know exactly when the Elite 11 Camp is this year, and when the selections are made?

If that is the case, maybe he's waiting to announce at the next junior day which would excite other recruits there and maybe entice them to commit as well? Just a thought.
The Elite 11 thing makes sense too, not because MSU is crap and he wouldn't be selected if he announced, but I think it helps the hype surrounding the camp when uncommited star players are coming in.

Jimmerson and Ringer were both national top 20 RBs and they committed the same year. Plus Dantonio can sell both RBs on how he rotates RBs in liberally and keeps them fresh as well his system will give the RB's more carries than Dick Rod where the QB is the primary rusher.

As big of recruits as those two guys were, neither one was as big as Baker or Caper. I mean, we're talking two top 5 national recruits that are being recruited nationwide.
I have a real time hard believing that we will land Caper as well, but that shouldn't get anybody down. Baker is a STUD and we should all be extremely grateful for MD's hardwork in getting him here.

Andrew Maxwell '09 QB ( MSU's #1 choice for '09 QB). This is great news, although he was considered for a while to be a silent verbal to MSU.

And if so, why the silence? Any definitive explanation here? Curiosity (and hope he wasn't the silent) is killing me
