as an MSU fan I don't like the Idea that he wants to "experience the whole process," I just get the feeling that he'll jump ship with a USC offer or something like that

He may do that, but if we can win 8 games this year (not out of the question) and get to a decent bowl we'll have a lot of evidence showing that this program is making progress and just needs a few star players (not to be confused with Rivals "Star system") That's got to attract more high profile guys, the ones that may not be willing to take a chance to help turn around a 4-8 program, but could see them taking a consistent 7-5, 8-5 program to 9 - 12 wins a season

Yeah, that line often seems like the death blow for MSU with some of these kids.

WIN and we solve a lot of this problem.
Personally, I'm getting awfully tired of Carroll and Saban coming up into Michigan and cherry picking recruits. You'd think they have enough talent in the south...

Ok so let me see if i understand this cause i'm kind of confused
Baker= Ringer type back with better speed, but he's a lil guy
Caper= JC/ pj hill type back (big bruiser type) but with some nice speed. I loved jehuu as the kid played with great heart and a lot of his yards were imo just that, jehuu refusing to be denied. But I've often thought if we could get a muscle back like him that had some speed for when he did break through that would be a great weapon.

I wouldn't compare Caper to Jehuu because Caper actually really good speed. Caper is in the 4.4 range and Jehuu prolly ran a Jerome Bettis-like 4.6 or so. And Baker isn't exactly a lil guy, he does play linebacker in high school.

isnt baker like 5'9 ? thats lil. Ok so Caper is more like PJ Hill from wisconsin? Bruiser back with good speed and can make you miss in space?

Well, I've only seen his video so comparing him to anyone would not be entirely fair. He does seem to be more of between the tackles kind of back with a really good blend of size and speed.

either way sounds like he's a hell of a good running back. If either of these two are as good as the people here and on the bunker say i'd be thrilled if land either much less both of them.

Baker - 5'10", 195lbs, 4.37 40
Caper - 5'11". 210lbs, 4.41 40
Film shows Baker with explosive speed and elusiveness. Caper is fast but seems to bust through tackles more than avoid but has a 6th gear once free to take off past the DBs.
I want both!

Both will be great running backs in college. The Caper comparison to PJ hill and Jehuu is a really big stretch. PJ Hill is around 230 pounds, and Jehuu is 250+. Caper is a complete back.
Baker is very similar to Jimmerson (and therefore pretty close to Ringer as well). Caper doesn't have any good comparisons. He has more meat than a smaller running back, but he is just as fast.
Either way, i'm excited for both.

Caper reminds me of Emmit Smith. Doesn't have the breakaway speed, isn't the shiftiest back, he isn't a massive bruiser. He's just the right balance of speed, size, and elusiveness that make him a great all purpose back.

On top of everything else, I just want a kid named "Caper" to be our feature back. Almost as good as "Ringer."

numbers are probably inflated a bit. Take 40 times on Rivals or Scout with a grain of salt. For example, Glenn Winston, one of our 2008 commits is listed at 6'1" 213 lbs and a 4.39 40 yet he was only ranked a 3 star. A player with those type of measurables would have been a 5 star if the film showed that. When watching the film of Caper, he's fast, but not THAT fast. he's still my first choice of the running backs from the state of Michigan.

Caper talks offers and timetables $
Caper says most of the Big Ten has offered him. Plans to take all his visits. Will be at MSU's junior day on Feb 23rd.

If i was in his position i would want to experience the whole process too. You only get to do it once so enjoy it as much as possible. I like Coach D's recruiting style because he wants kids who want to play for the green and white and will give 100% instead of someone who gives 75% b/c he is unhappy being there. Now if you get some of these coaches who sell all the lies, that coach might start burning bridges with high school coaches and potential future recruits.

Dorsey retracted the 1 RB comment. They will take more than one. Caper is still very much in play.
