If we ended up with both, could we see Winston at LB?

Under any circumstances we could see him at linebacker. But it seems I've read he wants the opportunity to compete for an RB job.

He also said same area. Hayes and Richard = Penn. and Mizz and Jimmerson and Ringer = Mizz and Ohio.
I'm with Big M on this one. It's very rare b/c the kids will know about each other that much more. However, MSU and it's history of playing 2 backs more than 200 carries each (see last year) is kind of an anomaly in this regard and their attractiveness to a recruit.

So really his arument had nothing to do with these two backs... While they are in the same area they aren't both top 10 backs...
and my argument had nothing to do with these two backs either... well...for the same reason....

Caper is good but I think his 40 time has been greatly exaggerated.

I agree, my dad is a teacher at Portage Central (in Caper's conference) and goes to most of the games. When I told him about how highly sought after Caper is he was surprised. I know its only one opinion, but he didn't seem to be that impressed by him last year. Caper would be a VERY nice get, dont get me wrong, but between him and Baker, I'd rather have the latter.

Spoke with Larry at school today. He said Baker's commit will not play a big part in his decision. So for right now, I think we got them both.

I don't think we had any. Burrell was our first and I think he committed in the summer.

With all the talk about Baker committing, anyone worried that a Caper commit could make Baker re-think?

I would guess that Dantonio would've told Baker that he was taking more than 1 RB in the class and so Baker knew this before he committed. But then again I may be completely wrong.

I feel good tho, but I defintely think it would cause Baker to at least think about it. I think in the end he would stay true to his commitment. Honestly I would rather have Teric Jones just to help us land Will Campbell. Also think Teric has big upside.

Not a chance would it make Baker think things through. He's a superstar, superstars don't think that way. They know they're the man and they are willing to prove it. Besides, we all know more than one back is necessary nowadays, why wouldn't hs fball players know this as well?
The thing I loved about Baker's comments were how sure and comfortable he is with his decision (much like Norman-see new Scout article).
I think Caper is coming and I think the two of them together are going to be really excited about lighting up the Big Ten.

If Coach D plans on 2 RBs, Baker knows it and knew before making his decision. No way Dantonio misled or tried to hide his recruiting intents. No way this kids flips if you ask me especially after hearing his exchange with Dantonio, about keeping their word to eachother. If Caper comes, I would think that Baker would be thrilled personally. I'm sorry, but Baker will see the feid in droves whether Caper is here of not.

I have seen Caper a ton on film and watched him as much as I could and live in the Kalamazoo area. He doesn't have the home run speed that Baker has but his first burst is as good as anyones. He has excellent vision and a very punishing running back.
I would put him in the 4.45 range and he still runs away from guys and gets to the outside quickly.
Here is the link to his film: Athlete Vault Video Center

Room for Two
New article about Capers to State on Scout. Titled "Room for Two?" The article talks about how there is room for two star running backs at State and how Caper has the Spartans "high on my list."

I haven't seen any video on him.....but are we looking at a lightning and thunder idea with the two? Are Baker and Capers different enough in style to have them both want to be here?
