Wow. This guy looks pretty impressive, esp with those numbers. If his determination, work ethic and talent matches his hundred metre stare, this guy's going to have some serious upside.

also lets remember that alot of kids get a LOT stronger between spring of their junior year and fall of their freshman year in college.....especially at 6'6" 290...alot of that is probably a lil baby fat that is ripe for turning into ripped muscle....
i think with recruiting OL's this early in the process, you are concerned more with technique, vision, and size POTENTIAL.
you can easily get a guy stronger and faster, but its the bad habits he has learned since play pop warner you have to worry about.....if the kids got quick feet and good hands, and is 6'6", who cares how much he benches when hes still 16 months from graduating high school......

I know a 2010 basketball recruit really well and he does this ALL THE TIME. Loves to google his name. Really though, it goes to show this really does happen and recruits are watching.

He visited scUM during the App St game so he's obviously been on scUM's radar for quite a while

And who knows where they stand with him after the regime change? I realize that UofM has typically had the monopoly on the high level OL talent in Michigan..well..for a long time now, but with the OL coach gone and a new system, a lot is possible.

Looking For His First Offer $
Visiting MSU this weekend, still looking for his first offer. Just as importantly, he hasn't heard from anyone on Dick Rod's staff.

This is exactly the type of OL I want to see coming to MSU, now. We are now the program that will be preparing players to run block and pass block like the pros. You want to learn how to do that, you come here.

This kid and Watt would be huge. We obviously are doing well with skill positions and if MD can start pulling in the talent on the line then I think that Rose Bowl he talked about would definitely start to look a lot more likely.

Scout - Hemlock Tackle on Spartan Radar $
Already attended junior days at Northwestern, Purdue, and Notre Dame. Plans on attending one at MSU in the next couple weeks. Prefers pass blocking...working on speed.
"I like Michigan State, it's a good college," he says of the Green and White. "I like the coaches."

Well, if his team wasn't very good last year, I'm not surprised he didn't get noticed too much. But apparently the people around his league noticed him, he was second team all league in 2006 and first team last year.
He also gets a mention on Max Emfinger's "asset" rating system. If you haven't seen this before, Max tries to rate kids based on their measurables. And Zach is on the list:

Grew up a Michigan fan after all. Probably wouldn't matter who the coach was there.

Let's hope they offer him soon, it would be nice to see at least one o lineman on the commits list (even though it is early)

It is pretty safe to say he will not be Spartan. He seems like a big time U of M lean.
