All - I talked to several people who saw taylor at the MSU camp - he was paired in the top flight of DE's and went against the top OL. In the one on one drills he beat the top OL every time in getting to QB drill (4 times in 4 times he got the QB). His rip move on the outside rush and his inside spin move was great. Lots of attention from the MSU coaches. I know MSU has offered 8 DE's already so not sure if taylor will get an offer. He has several more big ten camps to attend so I'm sure he will end up in the big ten some place. I've seen the kids highlight tape on you tube - the kid played LB and TE but looks like a DE to me.

Yeah, I talked to him last night. He said no offer, but there is a lot of interest.

I'm not sure how many DEs plans on taking, but I have to believe Calero is, at best, option 5 behind Gholston, Olaniyan, Black, and Baldwin.

He was ever bit as good as Gholston at camp and actually beat Gholston in the shuttle competition showing more lateral speed and was actually the last man standing in that drill out of everyone. I sure would hate to see him wind up in AA.

Gholston is the superior prospect because he has a higher ceiling. but calero will not end up at michigan

If he's ranked lower, but he's beating people up in these camps, is he more of a workout warrior?

Look at the 2009 Recruting link, Calero's Uncle is either drunk or has gone crazy!! I'm guessing Calero verballed and the Dad/Uncle was out celebrating too hard, thus he made the mistake of putting this into the 2009 thread. Does anyone with knowledge have any idea what is going on with this situation? Is the Dad/Uncle just throwing this out there when Taylor still does not have an offer?

Will be announced tomorrow morning. Mark Dantonio is a great man and coach!
We really need to take care of him because he is flat out getting it done. IMO, we've locked down 2 of the best Defensive ends in the Midwest for the class of 2010.

I can't help but ask this question, in your opinion Spartman which one of our two defensive end recruit commitments is the better prospect; Calero or Gholston?

bigrp: I know you want me to give you the politically correct answer and I know many will rail against me but I will be honest with you.....it's too close to call. Taylor has better lateral movement and is much quicker. Gholston has a great outside rush. Both will make us proud......

here's my question..you claim to not be related to Taylor, just an observer of Southfield Christian but became, obviously, a HUGE fan of his. How is it you know he a.) received an offer and b.) accepted it and will announce tomorrow? How does a HS football fan have access to this sort of information that NO ONE else is reporting?

Not saying I doubt you, but if it's true you obviously have a lot more connection to the kid than your admitting...whether its stalker creepish or legit, thats all we're questioning

I do obviously have a pretty good source that I can't disclose. We will find out tomorrow morning whether I've merely been blowing out hot air or not. All I can say is we need to trust Mark Dantonio's judgment on this one. He is an awesome coach and an even better man. I promise you will absolutely love Taylor's game......
Go Green!

I looked at the 2009 link and saw nothing. Where is this supposed drunken post?

Maybe I can't find it because most of the posts are made when drunk.
